After the return of football, now we get to see the true color of folks..seems to me it is crimson and white, not as it should Green and Gold. Seems like some have issues rooting for the Home team.

So their debate is between funding the entire stadium versus giving no money at all? There's probably a happy medium in there somewhere.
I, for one, don't want the county commission helping with an on-campus stadium. The UAB Football Foundation needs to get it done independent of any city or county help. That way, UAB athletics keeps all the money.
People were whining that the city didn't have the money, but that was bogus. The county now, I can see that argument there.

It would not hurt my feelings at all if the county was not involved. I'd take any money they wanted to pony up, but I don't expect any.

Let the Foundation finance and build it, and UAB pay for it over time.

Why does UAB Athletics deserve any of the money if UAB isn't going to help at all?

Why does UAB Athletics deserve any of the money if UAB isn't going to help at all?

Why does any non-profit deserve any appropriation?

I don't care what anybody says or what the IRS says...universities the size of UAB are no longer non-profits.
