Thanks TechDawg. Hope he recovers quick.
Just talked to him at a coaches caravan, he seemed fine. Hope the operation is a complete success!
Thoughts and prayers are with Coach Jones and his family. God bless.
He has taken the men's BB program out of the darkness with class and enthusiasm. Hopefully, the surgery goes well and a full recovery ensues.
Hope he has a speedy recovery!
Leading cause of death among men diagnosed with prostate cancer is cardiovascular disease. Part of that is age (and he's on the younger side) and that most varieties aren't very aggressive.

Hoping he helps add to the positive statistics.
Sounds like there is a ton of reason for optimism here. Best of luck JJ
Sending positive vibes for his full recovery of health.

Despite your mistaken belief that I am a pessimist, in actuality I am quite an optimist. Why shouldn't I be? I had prostate cancer 6 years ago and had probably the same surgery JJ will be having. It's called a Davinci robotic radical prostatectimy (sp). Of course I wish the very best for JJ, but as a realist, I know first hand he will not be considered in full remission for 5 years.
Most people don't realize we all have some small number of cancer cells in our bodies. It's not until they attach and begin to multiply that they become a problem, and a blood test can miss detecting a very small number of cancerous cells. Thus the need to wait a considerable amount of time before saying you are "cured".
Early detection is EVERYTHING!! Some of you guys sitting around out ther need to get tested. It's a fools dream to say you'll die of old age before prostate cancer. Lots and lots of guys die every year from it.
Prayers for Coach Jones.

Yep, hopefully weight loss is part of the recovery process.
American Cancer Society says over 27,000 men die each year from prostate cancer. I'm certain some of those men were in good cardiovascular health. Why take a chance? Get a check up.

Sound advice Old Dominion. Thank you.
04-cheers to you on having won your battle.
Many thanks to all of our conference mates for the well wishes. Coach Jones is in good hands, and on the mend:

Annual physical with a digital exam plus a PSA test can save your life. The men who die from Prostate cancer are the ones who never got checked and had it develop into something like Bladder or bone cancer. And yes, I've had it and had my prostate removed in 2006! If Dan Fogelberg had had annual physicals, he would probably still be with us! Get checked out! 04-rock

Same here. Davinci
If the Doc puts one hand on your shoulder while conducting a digital exam that's OK . If both of his hands are on your shoulders, you're in trouble!!
