Hopefully this one will stay on track.

I know that we need a little more depth for this year, but assuming that door is closed, any interest in this guy?

I wouldn't be opposed to it. Can't go wrong with more size and he was a pretty good scorer (albeit on a MEAC team).
In a vacuum, yes I'd be interested, but I need to see a recent class breakdown and position chart. He'd only have one year of eligibility left.

Anyone kept up with all the movement in handy chart form?
I'd definitely take him. Scoring ability down low and size and weight. Can never have enough skilled big men.
For one year... Yes.

Gotta think that would hurt some feelings with our neighbor down the street though. I doubt it would happen. If he liked the area, why not just stay where he is.
With all due respect, NSU's possible hurt feelings shouldn't have any bearing on it.

He's from Ohio (was a 2 star recruit out of HS)--he may want to head back that way.

They do have Gerard Johnson on the football side. Things like that really shoudn't ruffle many feathers.
"Gaston ranked fourth in the nation in shooting percentage and eighth in double-doubles..." that sounds pretty good. I heard we were still looking for that something that may fall into our lap, don't know if this is it. Heard we been scouting a couple of players.
Porter is now on campus and registered for summer school, so everyone is on campus. I'm excited about his upside after an year to develop and get stronger.
The "falling into your lap" thing would be a player for this coming year, a graduate transfer, correct?(or freshman if there are any left) Gaston would have to sit out a year as a transfer. We already have two transfer big men coming in season after next. I would think we would want a freshman big or two in that class. Then again, those coaches sure know what they are doing so maybe I'm reading it all wrong!

He was a junior last season wasn't he? So its possible he's graduating early. If he does, he can transfer and play immediately. Unless he's immediately available, I can't see us going after him.

No one boards like Gaston, no one hits the floor like Gaston. No ones form is exquisitely sure as Gaston.

The article in the VP said "If he goes to another Division 1 school, he'll have to sit out a year." So, it does not look like he will be a graduate transfer.
Three words:

"In a heartbeat."

But when he plays is he a beauty or a beast? 03-lmfao
