I like southern weather forecasts the best, but occasionally I like to branch out to see what others are doing; it keeps me well-rounded, so I like meteorologists who are well-rounded also.

Funny, Grover looks like he got old; I guess he got tired of all the nonsense up in New York and moved down to Pensacola. I remember him from back in the day when he was young:

The planet is 4.5 billion years old. Plate tectonics do give it a good facelift but makeup can only conceal so much. Now modern humans, on the other hand, have only been around about 1.5 million yrs.

We’ve only been keeping modern records for a couple hundred years, but we do extract data from ice, soil, and undersea cores plus any geologic data that’s relevant.

yep, I meant a few Billion years old , not million. Typing that quickly. Thanks for the catch. Here's another for ya: they finally found ol' Chris Columbus' ship, the Niña; see photo below:

The Nina replica ship visiting Pensacola was grounded during Hurricane Sally.

Guess I gotta get started heading out. At least the worst of the storm's almost past by. Hope I don't run into too much flooding. Roundtrippers never my favorite this time of year. Gonna bring two thermoses full o' joe and some tunes for the road.
