Hate to be the negative nancy, but Watts could be pulling him along just like he did Clark (and his family... BUT HAY, **** THEM RIGHT!? ROLL TAHD ROLL)

Who knows at this point. I'm not going to get worked up over anything. Part of me says Watts had to say something pretty good to get Filler to say that publicly, but, again, who knows.

It's a good move by Filler. Setting a trap to see if Watts hangs himself with another lie, whilst buying more time for Armageddon to be waged.

Agreed FN.

No, I don't fault you. I have absolutely zero trust in Dr. Watts, and I would not be surprised if he was straight up lying. However, I do trust Mr. Filler. If he says he feels better then I do, too.

Certainly a swing from this morning's tone. Makes me think Ray is temporarily shielding his objectives after Rep. Williams revealed them.

Jimmy Filler obviously doesn't frequent Blazertalk if he has any sense of optimism.

I hope that conversation was recorded by Filler. Alabama law states that a conversation between 2 people may be recorded by one of the persons without the other knowing. But if the unknowing party asks if the conversation is being recorded, the recording party cannot lie and say it's not.

I feel like Filler is just attempting to operate ahead of Watts with this one. If he kills football tomorrow he's clearly shown as a liar and Filler can easily say I put he money on the table and he didn't take it. And if nothing happens tomorrow then Fillers statement has successfully bought some more time.

I'd be shocked if there was an announcement tomorrow at this point. I don't doubt that that was the original plan, but I think that the outcry today threw a wrench into the works. I have hope that the power structure around Watts and the BOT is starting to crumble.

“@CUSAbbs: UAB booster Jimmy Filler has committed $7.5 million toward an on campus football stadium. Per @repjack”

I think the opposite. I think Watts and company sped up the timeline because they were worried the amount we raised by June 1st was going to be way too much to turn away. It's easier to say no to $12.5 million than it is to $25 million or more.

I really hope Filler knows what he's doing, because he's going to look like a fool if football doesn't come back.

I don't think so. Watts, on the other hand, will be shown to be dishonest yet again.

Jack played Watts today. Standard politician move. He put more pressure of the opposition while fueling the fire for his camp. Well done sir. I'd bet all we heard about a decision tomorrow was hot air. Love it.

Which is easy to do considering everything Jack said has happened before. If it was just a power move, it sure bothered the heck out of me.

Look like a fool for standing up for what he believes in? I don't think so. Go back to your hole eyeore.

No idea what Jack may be up to, but the VP Fury is very real.

We already know that Watts has no problem lying to people. If he says "Sorry, no football" after what Filler said today, it makes Filler look gullible and will probably cause even more dissension in the ranks.
