Hopefully by the time that the CSS report comes in we will have so much money pledged and so many pledges made that Watts will have no choice but to restore football, bowling and rifle. But what if he doesn't?

Of course if he doesn't he will be admitting that it was never about money and that it was actually done at the BOT's direction, but Watts doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks about him as long as the BOT has his back and continues to pay him $73,000 a month to in compensation for looking like their stooge.

In addition, right now the Montgomery option is not looking real good because Jack and Jabo are having trouble getting the latest bill which would add to Trustees to the BOT for UAB and UAH out of committee. Believe it or not it is primarily the Huntsville Senators and Representatives in the Senate and House Education committees which are holding the bill hostage. You would think that they would be our natural allies in this fight, which has some suspecting that the BOT is offering the Huntsville legislators something behind the curtain through their lobbyists for their vote.

So what do we do if Watts just flat says "NO" despite the fact that we have plenty of money to bring the cancelled programs back and we are flat out of other options?

For me I walk away knowing I did all I could. It's their baby to raise at that point. I'll still participate in the political process and work for long term changes. But as far as direct support for the university will be over.
I was just going to keep going, personally.

Our greatest asset is the truth. No matter how long the administration and the board tries to keep the status quo, they won't be around forever. I'm not worried about the politicians. I'm glad our guys are doing what they can, but, for the most part, it's all about being on the right side at the right time for most of their ilk. It's to be expected that Dr. Watts and his people are going to fight as long as they can, do what they can, and deny us what we want at every opportunity, but what more can they do now? It'd be great if things resolved in the short term, but I'm in this for the long term. If they keep being stupid, it's bound to catch up with them.
We only lose if we quit. Why is everyone so glum today? Did I miss something?

Fine if Huntsville don't want reps then change it so UAB only has two reps. It seems the people to our North have short memories. Next time their precious ice hockey is in danger or UA opens another office in Huntsville they can go suck a rock before I help them. That's if it's true.
Probably nothing we can do.. just hope we get in the A10 or MVC
There will be no "nothing we can do talk". Don't need more lowering of morale.

Thank you. Have we learned nothing over the last six months?

What do we do? Same as we have every day since December 3rd:

We fight.

We fight even if football is restored, because this runs far deeper than football. We fight until we have transparent and accountable control of our beloved UAB and it is back on its path to deserved greatness.

We fight them until hell freezes over, and then we fight them some more on the *******ed ice.

If Jack Williams or Walt Maddox becomes Governor, we won't have to worry. We need to eradicate the scourge of Bammerism in all ways possible. Social change is never easy, but it is the most noble of accomplishments. We have the truth, and we control the narrative, as evidenced by each inane statement from the opposition.

I'm also disappointed at the Huntsville apathy. It was only four years ago they were threatening secession.
I don't believe they really threatened secession. I was disappointed that I wrote both of my legislatures here and received no reply from either though.

THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY" and then there is the way things get done in Alabama - after the "stand in the schoolhouse door", the denial of Medicaid for the over 1/3 of Alabamians who need it, the persecution of Hispanic immigrants and the fight to deny marital equality for all citizens (but the state has never refused to collect ANY of their state taxes).

This unfortunately is the case where "they finally came for me" so now I am enraged to be treated as those others were treated for so long. This time the shoe fits UAB's foot, and UAB must wear it.

Thank you for reminding everybody of your political views once again.

But seriously...

We spend a small fraction of the cash that would have gone to UAB Football/Bowling/Rifle into hitting UAT where it hurts...

To be continued.
We ask those who donated to give some portion of that money as a lobbying fund, to start with.

We don't quit.
We ask those who have knowledge of Bammer ncaa rules violations to file complaints with the NCAA
