No, it’s not a distress signal coming from north Louisiana — it’s part of a hashtag (#MayDayInRuston) being used by current and former Louisiana Tech players who are pushing for associate head coach Dusty May to replace Michael White as the Bulldogs’ next coach.

May has spent the last six years at Tech — four years under White and two previous years under Kerry Rupp. He first came on board in 2009 after stints at Indiana and UAB, which is why players think he should be rewarded with his loyalty.

When Dusty was here, our sons were in day care together and friends. Great guy. Hope he gets the opportunity. Very focused and hard working Coach.
i don't like the idea of players threatening to leave if May isn't hired. I have no problem if he is hired, but the players need to calm down

Yeah, it's not exactly what you want to see, but I like that passion. It'd be different if they were calling for Scott Brooks to come down or something, but they're pushing for someone they know and trust. You have to respect that.

they just need to calm down and trusts the AD will make the right call at the HC position

That's true. Can't argue against that.

You don't really want players dictating things like that, and the AD definitely doesn't need any additional pressure.
After all, if a team can't trust the AD and his/her superiors to do what is best for the players, who can they trust?

Heh, point taken.

Regardless of when (or whether) UAB restores FBS-level football, the injuries UAB has suffered at the hands of Watts and the BOT will take 20-30 years to heal.
May is joining the gang in Gainsville

That's more or less what happened when Dusty's boss here, Mike Davis, got the job at Indiana (Knight was canned, players demanded Davis).

As I recall, Davis and those players went to the Final Four then the decline set in the next year, and I don't think Indiana has been back to that level since.
