Pappy is worried about the point guard position. I'm not as worried as he is. Josh came here as a point guard, and although he's effective at the two guard, he can run the team and score from the point.

I have great confidence in Kemy at the two guard. I see him having a breakout season. Mariek at the three gives us a proven 6'9" pure shooter at that position. Another breakout season. Roger is a solid inside player, and should flourish at the four, with our new 6'11" guy at the five. Then there is Marius who had moments of brilliance, and Stetson, who can be a shut down defender, and possibly score a little. Tyson Battiste should get some good moments backing up Josh. We might be thin in depth, but it's possible our best players will be able to play a lot of minutes, ala Ga State, and they have done pretty well with that method.

It's highly likely that Coach Beard will still sign a number of new players, so we don't know the final outcome, but we might be very competive with just the players I have mentioned. I'm optimistic for the season, even with the loss of several players.04-cheers

Josh is NOT a point guard!
He is if that's where the coach puts him.

Hope Beard figures it out sooner rather than later. Think he will.

I'm assuming (hoping) that Coach Beard will find a Juco point guard or senior transfer who can play the point right away. I think Batiste can be a solid backup. No way I can even begin to predict what type of team we will have at this point in time. I believe we are still recruiting players for next season. We certainly need to sign a couple of more good players to have a chance to finish near the top of the league.
