Quote:"I don't think bowling will come back, but I think football will. Why do I think football will come back? People are so adamant about it," she said. "I just feel like it was a choice from another university, not our university. No one really cares about bowling so I don't think it's going to come back."

No I think we bring bowling back and Rifle as well. As she said, I just feel like it was a choice from another university. When we get to make our own decisions we bring them back as well and my daughter may be with them.

They cut the two sports she was considering, bowling and rifle. She is not a happy camper.
I read this via Twitter and came here. The comments at the bottom of that from a couple of those moron Tide fans further cement my belief that they are some of dumbest mongloids in this country.
I firmly believe you guys will beat us in the race to right this mess. ETSU didn't have any money and was stuck with our president, A.D. and SWA.
I also believe a new stadium will happen there. There is zero excuse that Birmingham shouldn't have a brand new 45-50K seat deal with high end finishes to service UAB, the HBCU game (can't recall the teams) and growth of the bowl game. The sad thing is the damage has already been done.
I bowled in a fund raiser a few weeks ago, on the same lane with these two young ladies; they are great bowlers and I am thankful for a chance to bowl with the last UAB bowling team. They are all great ambassadors for UAB and we need to do our best for all three sports (football, bowling, and rifle) that were taken from us.
Bowling and rifle will come back with football, no doubt. It's much easier to restart sports you just cut than start new Title IX sports from scratch. We already have the equipment, coaches, training facilities arrangements, slots in C-USA for those sports, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They never cease to amaze me.

I feel sorry for them. Hatred is a disease.

What these and others like them indicate to me is the success the system BOT had in framing the UAB programs as anti Crimson Tide, particularly in the case of UAB football. For too many Bama fans, the Bama football team is the only thing they have any experience with as most never attended Bama or any other post secondary school. Their hatred of anything UAB only is amplified by the anti B'ham sentiment of many around the state. Racial antagonism is only a complication of this syndrome as it has existed since the beginnings of the 20th century.
