Agreed he started the interview confident and self assured but got defensive and silly at the end. He doesn't have his finger on the pulse of his fan base or he thinks people in Memphis don't talk to each other and are stupid

On to the interview:

He's a Grizzlies fan, (ok.)

He didn't do an end of the year presser because the season was over and he was too busy recruiting. (Sorry not buying that you can't take an hour all-in and wrap up the season.)

Core group is back added to with a Top 10 recruiting class. (Yep.)

Kedren was really good the second half of the year. Needs to get to 208 or below. Be quicker, bouncier, and faster.

Kedren being out of shape early plus Austin's injury late probably cost us a few wins. (That's fair.)

Excited about next season but we have to shorten the rotation. Can't play 10-11 guys.

Spending a lot of time on shooting this spring; especially the 3.

I love my staff. Phil Jackson would not have helped last season because of the guard play early and Austin's injury. (uhhhhh, Jackson might have helped with the early guard play issues?)

Staff not changing.

He's not alarmed by the transfers out of his program. Over 700 transfers...not that big of a deal.

He feels he has nothing to prove as a basketball coach. The media is lazy in reporting unrest. Most of the fan base is happy what you have is the same person with 10 different names posting the same bad stuff over and over........... (Uhhhhhhhh, no. Look at all the empty seats at games. It's more than just a 'handful'. Somebody hand him a space helmet)

Forget the Sweet 16, he wants a National Title. We're gonna get it just don't know when. He knows what it takes because he was on a team that won in 1997 and was on the staff that went to the title game in 2001. (I do like that attitude.)


Overall he sounds more mature and more like a seasoned basketball coach than a kid in a candy store..... gotta give him that.

Some folks starting to sound really defensive here.

Great interview! Gave me tons of new amo! See my sig!!! this guy will just never own his bad performance. & this is why his players don't trust him & transfer at first chance.

I don't think it would take a rocket scientist to figure out how to invent several IP addresses under different names.

Would be so awesome to be getting pumped up for next year, having a pulse of certain aspects & improvements to look forward to........Meh, You just don't get that from Josh.....constant backpedaling,evasiveness repetitious banter and stating what other people do and what other people say....In comparison, you will never hear rhetoric like that from Fuente......Fuente is a MAN, and Josh is a boy...point-blank.He doesn't make you feel the need to cheer for him or rally in his corner....That's why the players underperform,.....He doesn't motivate them and He sure as hell doesn't motivate the fans!

Josh SUX! I really hate to say that, but it's true.....And I really want to root for the guy! But in ALL honesty, He sux @ motivating.....Listening to him talk is very deflating.....And for all you shampoo users, he brought this upon himself....He talked about lazy media personnel but raved about Kedren, Hell he doesn't think Kedren is Lazy, He can't get in shape for basketball to earn his scholly, but he sure as hell made a baby!!! I'm sick of all these damned excuses......

Austin got hurt = we lost a few games
Point guard wasn't reliable = we lost a few games
Crap GTFOH

I've absolutely never heard any coach on any level mention a message board. Dis dude be trippin yo. He know he's toast & is now using his bullypit to throw punches on the way out.
