If no one has heard about a press conference being scheduled by now, it's probably not going to happen today.

Does anyone want to speculate what that means?
It would be inappropriate to speculate at this time.

Hopefully it means one of the three finalist has been offered (and accepted) the job rather than the committee being overruled by the Administration.

This is keeping with the bad news released on Friday and good news released on Monday philosophy.

Or it could mean that Administration is trying to get all three candidates to turn down the job so they can add another puppet.
Even if a hire is done today, after providing a 2 week notice, the new AD wouldn't officially start before the May 15 (target?) date. During this time I would also suspect that any questionable behavior by administration, a change in circumstances, or simply a change of heart could result in the chosen person changing their mind anyway...
Ray is still afraid of the students, alumni and boosters. There'll be an hour's notice or less when/if there is a press conference.
Any word on AD hostage video?

That's actually pretty telling.
It would be inappropriate to speculate at this time. +1
I'm just waiting for the video to be released.

03-lmfao that's funny right there I don't care who you are
I guess it's not going to happen today. What does that mean?
It simply means that Watts set a clear goal, communicated it to his constituents (Faculty Senate, et al) and failed. Again. Another example, another reminder...Watts is a recidivist failure.
I'm assuming that AD selection committee did its job and provided the names of the three finalists on schedule. (Somebody with better info please comment.) If so Watts should have named the AD today as per his own schedule Hmmmm..... something has a peculiar smell. 01-rivals Do you think maybe Watts didn't like any of the three candidates and sent the committee back to the drawing board? 05-stirthepot
Just a WAG but could it be that the finalist said here's my deal to take the job & Watts/BOT discussing counter offer? Could be financial hangup or sports related ie the finalist wants certain guarantees related to dropped sports or if Watts is replaced etc
I think it boils down to no one here knows and we're all speculating and guessing.

I council patience.

Like we have a choice.
FN nailed it up above. This isn't the first time Watts has blown through a self-imposed deadline. This is the same pumpkinheadeddouchcanoe who douple-dips research and thinks 4 + 11 = 42.
