After 4 knee surgeries, #UC football career ends for Australian Lindsay Crook http://cin.ci/1HOvUWz #Bearcats

Was hoping this kid could stay healthy and be a success story for us. Glad to hear he is staying to finish his education.

Definitely a shame as I've been looking forward to seeing what he could do since he picked UC. But 4 knee surgeries will end pretty much every football career. Glad he's planning to stay and graduate and good luck to him!
Ultimately, I want to stay over here. That's the goal."

Pretty cool. Was wondering about that.
Sad news. I was thrilled when he decided to come over and give American Rules football a shot.

Best of luck to Lindsey!
Thought this was announced a few months ago. Heard he was finished a while back.
Bummer. My best buddy is living in Perth and he had mentioned the enthusiasm Lindsey's play would have brought to Australia.
Never really expected him to play even if healthy. This is a hard game to learn for the first time at 19 or 20. I do wish him the best, though. Seems like a great kid.

Blowing a knee on the first snap of American Football ever played has to be a bizarro universe record.

Yeah first play - a horribly bad cosmic roll of the dice. I feel for the guy.

Incredible athletic talent - hard to learn a new sport at this level so late but I really wanted to see what he could do if/when things started to click.

With that kind of determination he should do just fine in life after sports.
