I think his elbow brushed the ump while arguing a call, and touching an ump is an automatic 4-game suspension.

Do you think he pnched him? Surely the author of the article wouldn't have left that detail out.

I'm sure the language got a little heated and he got in his face. Any contact requires a 4 game suspension. And I'm not defending him, any contact with an ump is stupid. He deserves the suspension.

I'm not arguing with that I don't know.... I'm arguing a situation that he just brushed up against him and that was it... Cause there's more to it than a simple accidental brush up against someone.

Correct. Robe got suspended last year for a 4 game stretch. It's an NCAA rule

Yup, and it's left entirely up to the official to determine if there was contact.
So if you have a guy out there with a Napoleon complex trying to show the coach who's boss, then they can turn an accidental brush into a 4 game suspension.

The way the rule reads is that if there is contact that the umpire feels needs to be reported. So if the ump wanted to be a d**k a brush could have caused the suspension.

Exactly, not the greatest rule. Coach could be signaling to a certain part of the field, and if he accidentally brushes the ump, BAM, 4 games. And it's practically impossible to overturn.
Anyone who knows Coach Robe, knows that his suspension last season was questionable at best. But he took the punishment regardless.
So seeing how things played out for us last year, I'm a little hesitant to say the USA coach was 100% in the wrong, unless I can see some video showing otherwise.

Can the NCAA go ahead and suspend App's coach for just being ****** in general?
