Great looking place.
I always liked that house.
Plenty of parking. :)
Does the new President get a speeding ticket slush fund? Could come in handy.

Real Estate Photos

A few nice rooms. We've got some double wides with a bit more lot but it does have a lot of driveway. Houses in OH taking a year or more to sell, I suspect a lot of the quick turn-around had to do with the name "Dana." Between insurance and taxes saved by not having an empty house dependent, they saved a pretty penny.

This is a good move! UT can unload the older place and still make a good amount of money on that and now has a place that is a lot better for entertaining donors and guests.

I posted a comment below in the follow up article, that maybe the University of Toledo should set Dr. Gaber up in a double-wide...
Nice place to represent UT and surrounded by potential donors. Some UT alums and some a lot not. All have a stake in the future of the area and a chance to make their mark. The University should be a driving force for Toledo's future.
BG's president has a big house too. Not in such a nice area, though. It's in the middle of a cornfield. Not kidding.

What are you smoking? 01-wingedeagle The nearest cornfield is about a half-mile south.

Backs up to a golf course with the St. John's Nature Preserve and a church across the street.

It's between two and three miles from campus on the west edge of town.

The family that sold the house to the foundation was in the middle of a divorce. The lady did everything she could to derail the sale of the house. Evidently everytime the house would be about to close, she would back out of the deal and tick off the ex-husband and his family. Rumor has it that she wanted to put a bunch of goats on the front lawn to keep the grass from growing.

I think the foundation purchased not only the house (which needed some major work on the foundation) but also about 11 acres surrounding it (most of which was located next to the golf course).

Does anyone have the address on the BG house. Lets Zillow and see who has the more expensive place UT or BG.

Now they have the cheaper bg cheerleaders to keep that grass down. Good economic move.

The taxes, yikes. About 30K on an acre lot? They must have some pretty nice school lunches in the OH. As for the complaints about the free digs, even I know that's pretty much standard procedure and they have to be nice (though it's not much to MY taste).

I think their presidents name is Malachai, correct? He is shown here taking some flack from a BG sociology professor after inviting several of her students over for a 10 kegger and some corn hole.

Hey if our Pres holds a kegger, I'm calling it now: greatest Pres ever!

Goats eat the weeds and garbage plants before they'll eat the grass.......
You guys remember when EMU's prez spent over $ 1Million to build a mansion next to the BB arena, and the EMU students had a fit???? It cost more than 10 blocks of houses combined in Ypsi.....

So it wasn't in the middle of a cornfield but it was in the middle of a divorce?
According to UT, other peer institutions in Ohio and Michigan have invested between $1.2 and $4.5 million in presidential residences.
