Quote:ESPN Top 25 transfers and complete transfer list

The transfer list was in excess of 700 players a year ago. It’s growing quickly this year, and we will update it with the players in demand.

Below are 25 (actually 26, since we had trouble breaking a tie) who are getting plenty of attention (for each player in the top 25, his current school is listed):

1. Damion Lee, Drexel (eligible immediately) -- Averaged 17.1 points as a freshman and 13.0 points as a sophomore. As a junior, Lee posted 21.4 points and 6.1 boards per contest -- and he's as sought-after as anyone on this list. Committed to Louisville

Considering: Arizona, Louisville, Gonzaga, Marquette, Maryland

2. Nigel Williams-Goss, Washington -- He averaged 15.6 points and 5.9 assists as a sophomore with the Huskies this past season and is a pure point guard who makes people better. Williams-Goss will sit out and have two left.

Committed to Gonzaga

Considering: UNLV, Texas, Providence, Michigan State, Georgetown, Gonzaga, St. John’s, LSU

3. Marcus Foster, Kansas State -- The undersized 2-guard came out of nowhere and had a terrific freshman season (15.5 ppg) for Bruce Weber, but this past year was a roller coaster -- with more downs than ups. Foster was benched and suspended -- but he can still help a team with his ability to score. He averaged 12.5 points this past season. Committed to Creighton

Considering: Creighton, Gonzaga, Cincinnati, LSU

4. Rasheed Sulaimon, 6-4, SG, Jr., Duke -- It didn’t work out the way everyone thought for the talented wing out of Texas. Sulaimon spent much of his time in Durham on Coach K's bad side and was ultimately dismissed from the program. Sulaimon will try to graduate this summer so he can play his final season next school year as a graduate student for another program.

5. Shonn Miller, Cornell (eligible immediately) -- He’s a 4-man who is eligible immediately for his final season and has attracted big-time interest. Miller, who averaged 16.8 points and 8.5 boards this past season, has a nice dribble pull-up and is a better perimeter shooter than his numbers indicate.
Committed to UCONN

Considering: UConn, Illinois, Boston College, Michigan, Marquette, California

6. Ricky Tarrant, Alabama (eligible immediately) -- He played two seasons at Tulane and averaged 15.7 points as a sophomore before transferring to Alabama. Sat one season and averaged 13.1 points in the SEC this past year before deciding to transfer again after Anthony Grant was let go. Can play immediately. Committed to Memphis

Considering: Penn State, Murray State, Purdue, Clemson, VCU, Wake Forest, Memphis, California, Georgia Tech, Baylor, Pittsburgh

7. Mike Thorne Jr., Charlotte (will graduate) -- The 6-foot-11 big man averaged 10.1 points and 7.3 boards this past season. Big men are hard to find -- especially ones who are experienced and productive. Committed to Illinois

Considering: Pittsburgh, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky

8. Johnathan Williams III, Missouri -- The Memphis native led the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding last season. There are restrictions on his release: He can’t go to an SEC or Big 12 school, and also can’t transfer to Illinois or Arizona.

9. Eric Paschall, Fordham -- The 6-foot-6 freshman forward averaged 15.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in his first season in the college ranks. Committed to Villanova

Considering: Villanova, Florida, Providence

10. Nick King, Memphis -- The undersized 4-man plays hard and averaged 7.2 points per game this past season as a sophomore with the Tigers. Committed to Alabama

Considering: Ole Miss, Arkansas, Alabama, Charlotte, Xavier, Murray State, Western Kentucky, Florida, Saint Louis, DePaul

11. Mark Tollefsen, San Francisco (eligible immediately) -- The California native is a thin combo forward who is athletic and can step out and make shots from the perimeter. He averaged 14 points, 5.4 boards and shot 38 percent from 3 last season. Committed to Arizona

Considering: Arizona, California, San Diego State, Washington, Nevada, Tennessee

12. Shaqquan Aaron, Louisville -- The Seattle native missed the first 10 games due to an NCAA issue, and played sparingly once he became eligible. However, he was a highly regarded player coming out of high school and should have plenty of suitors.

13. Tyler Harris, Providence (eligible immediately) -- He had his issues at Providence, but Tobias’ younger brother averaged 11.6 points as a sophomore and 9.9 points and 4 boards this past season. He’s eligible immediately for his final college campaign.

Considering: Connecticut, Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, UMass, Auburn, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, La Salle.

14. Evan Payne, Loyola Marymount -- The 6-foot-1 athletic scoring guard put up 18 points per game last season for Mike Dunlap and the Lions. He’s a native of Akron, Ohio. Committed to Long Beach State

Considering: UNLV, LSU, Long Beach State

15. Josh Cunningham, Bradley -- He’s a Top 100 recruit who can rebound and defend, and plays hard. The 6-foot-7 Illinois native averaged 7.9 points and 7.5 boards as a freshman for the Braves this past season. Committed to Long Beach State

Considering: Arizona, DePaul, Michigan State, Notre Dame, St. John’s, Minnesota, Purdue, South Carolina, UIC, Dayton, Colorado State

16. Adam Smith, Virginia Tech (eligible immediately) – Played his freshman season at UNC Wilmington before transferring to Virginia Tech, where he played the past two seasons and averaged 13.4 points under Buzz Williams as a junior. He’s eligible immediately and can shoot it (42 percent from 3).
Committed to Georgia Tech

17. Trey Lewis, Cleveland State (eligible immediately) -- The 6-foot-2 combo guard averaged 16.3 points last season and shot 42 percent for the Vikings. Rick Pitino needed backcourt help after losing Terry Rozier and Chris Jones.
Committed to Louisville

18. Justin Tillman, VCU -- The 6-foot-7 freshman plays with energy, but didn’t get much of a chance this past season due to the fact that Treveon Graham was around. Could be really productive depending on where he lands. Stayed at VCU

19. Jaren Sina, 6-2, G, Soph., Seton Hall -- The sophomore point guard wasn’t content with his role, and it’s difficult to blame him. He played well when Isaiah Whitehead was injured. Sina averaged seven points this past season, and will likely sit out and have two seasons left. Committed to George Washington

Considering: Michigan, George Washington, Boston College, Rhode Island, South Carolina

20. Derrick Gordon, UMass (eligible immediately) -- He was the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year at Western Kentucky and spent the past two seasons at UMass, where he averaged 9.4 points and 9.8 points per contest. He’s a 2-guard who can get to the basket and finish. He’s also eligible to play next season.

Considering: Oregon State, Utah State, UNLV

21. Dylan Ennis, Villanova (eligible immediately) -- He started off last season extremely well, but then slowed down. Tyler Ennis’ brother wound up averaging 9.9 points last season at ‘Nova, and will play his final season elsewhere. Committed to Oregon

Considering: Baylor, Oregon and Illinois

22. Anthony Collins, South Florida (eligible immediately) -- The veteran point guard was granted a medical hardship waiver and can play his final season in 2015-16. Collins played only eight games in 2013-14 due to a knee injury, and this past season he averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists.

Committed to Texas A&M

Considering: California, Tennessee, Baylor, Georgetown, St. John's, Purdue

23. Stanford Robinson, 6-4, Indiana -- A sophomore wing who can get to the basket and guard; he averaged 3 points per game and will go elsewhere in search of more playing time. Likely to sit out next season.

Committed to Stanford

Considering: Rhode Island, Richmond, UAB

24. Manu Lecomte, Miami (FL) -- The 5-foot-11 guard from Belgium averaged 7.9 points and shot 46 percent from beyond the arc for the Hurricanes.

Committed to Baylor

Considering: Baylor, St. John’s, Dayton

T25. Deandre Burnett, Miami (FL) -- The Florida native missed his freshman season due to injury, and averaged seven points this past season. He’s a scoring guard.

Considering: USC, Ole Miss, Marquette, South Florida, La Salle

T25. Anton Gill, Louisville -- He didn’t play much for the Cardinals, but was a fairly sought-after recruit coming out of high school. Committed to Nebraska
Memphis gets zero mentions.

One mention.

Tarrant shot less than 30% from 3 last year as well.
It would be dumb for a 1 year guy to come to Memphis.

If a guy does, then Kedren would be BOH I imagine, so either way you'll still be rolling with one experienced guard and Broddie/Martin as the backup.

The problem is that Kedren is not the answer we need at PG. And two freshman won't be either. JP has to find an experienced PG that wants to play. Like Dixon two years ago.

Say what?
Again.

Kedren, even not in prime condition, was getting about 34 mpg at the point. It seems Josh really likes what he brings.

I think it's fair to think most 1 year transfers (who are high level) will essentially ask to be guaranteed starter's minutes.

Kedren likely expects to get his same minutes, so there is no way a 1 year transfer and Kedren could co-exists.
Wow, anti-Tigers thread in less than an hour.

Huh?
Ithink Josh played Kedren out of necessity last year. I'm not sure he WANTS to play him 34mpg. Especially if he doesn't improve ver the off-season.
Well is he a PG or a 2?

Good news is he won't have to. He got an offer from Murray State.
Damion Lee to Louisville.
Making the commitment official, Illinois announced the signing of Trinity Christian School alum and former Charlotte center Mike Thorne Jr. on Thursday.

A graduate transfer, the 6-foot-11, 270-pound Thorne will be eligible to play next season. He picked the Fighting Illini over Pittsburgh, Kansas and Kentucky.

"Mike is an experienced, productive player with tremendous work ethic," Illinois coach John Groce said in a school-issued release. "He will make an immediate impact in our frontcourt with his ability to score one-on-one in the paint and his rebounding prowess.

"Mike showed great progression throughout his career at Charlotte. He has a burning desire to get better, which really excites you as a coach. He is hungry to win and help lead our team, and (he) will be an excellent fit in our program."
Odd thing is...

Memphis in fact got two mentions.

Both Tarrant and Nick King.

I guess that is the same as no mentions.
Yep. One incoming, one outgoing. They cancel each other out.
