and asked if we had a coach yet. He said there would be a press conference Wednesday with the announcement. I said I suppose the decision has already been made, and surprisingly he said Chasse is still working on it and hasn't made the final decision. Very interesting.04-cheers

Seems possible, but unlikely. Although, none of our candidates currently have DI jobs and would all love to have this one, they still would want to work out salary, contract terms, etc. and have them reviewed by an attorney before signing on the dotted line. That would take a day or 2. So I think someone knows he is the new coach at UALR.
You could be right.

Not all coaches sign before the presser. Many sign a letter of agreement to take the job at X Pay, while they work out the difficulties that come with contract law. Usually several terms are agreed to already, but there are a few things left for the lawyers and agents to work out before it's signed and sealed. Malzahn didn't sign a contract with us until June.

Now other coaches decide going in that they really want a job and pretty much tell their agents to get it done whatever it takes. Anderson signed his contract the day after the Presser because he didn't want to work under a letter of agreement, and we had some non negotiable buy out terms.

It all comes down to the coach and AD. Blake Anderson did not accept the offer at Arkansas State until 7:00amET on a Wednesday Morning, with a press conference scheduled for 2:00pm that afternoon.
