Tough loss to #20 Houston last night: 3-2. Important re-matches tonight and tomorrow.
Have we ever played in the cws?

No, not yet - same as most of the other 301 college baseball programs which constitute Division 1. Each year, only 8 schools make it into the CWS. We have come painfully close to making it out of the regionals several times, but have yet to make it. I began following Tiger baseball in the early 70's (looking for something to do after the Blue-Gray Game) and got hooked. If we make it to Omaha in my lifetime, I will walk up there if necessary.

Congratulations to our team on a great (and important) win yesterday over #14 Houston!

Was one game away with Charlie Lea on the mound and lost.

Damn went to high school with him and still originally spelled him name wrong. Would have never caught it without someone responding with a quote.

RIP Charlie Lea. Saw him throw a no hitter and start an all star game.
Way to win the series Tigers!
Tiger baseball fans, I wonder if u can help me with this. A couple of yes ago we had a player named Zach, I can't remember his last name, who led the n.c.a.a. in batting ave. and was drafted by the mets. Does anyone know how he is progressing? Thanks. BTW I saw Dan Uggla play today, always good to see a TIGER in the line up
Chad Zurcher is who you are talking about. Played a couple minor league seasons, got injured, retired

I saw him pitch numerous times as a Tiger. I can hear the catcher's mitt popping with his fastball. Speaking of pitching, the young freshman, Alexander (from Tipton-Rosemark), who started yesterday in the big win over Houston, is off to a great start. Seven strikeouts, in seven innings against a very good team was impressive.

Changing the subject slightly, I applaud the Commercial Appeal for giving Tiger baseball better coverage this year.

Called "Zurk" by friends - was from Knoxville

We are 2nd in the AAC (now 5th-place conference in RPI, and closing in on #4 fast)!!! Let's support this very deserving baseball program!

Were you at the playoff game at Tobey against Central where he lost due to a bloop single over the head of the 2nd baseman.
man some of you are old.
As you are , once was I. As I am, so will you be (barring early death).
