Wanted to start a new thread about next Saturday's Big Blue 5K event before the Spring Game. Anyone running and/or attending the game?
My friend's parents that live in Larchmont and I will be there. Despite their kids go to other schools, they are ODAF members and I know they are not running, but they will have some BBQ and go to the game.
Wife, myself and the kid are running it and going to the game.

Yep
Hope to be at the game.
Definitely won't be running, but I also definitely will be at the game.
What time is the game? Id like to go but tied up with youth sports most of the day.
5K - yes + 3 family members. Have to defend my age group title... Wait I'm not in that age group anymore... :(

Will there be bbq? My understanding is that the Big Blue bbq will be right before the UVa baseball game on the 28th.

3pm is game time. Question to those that attended last year: Do people tailgate for the Spring Game? I know there's a big tailgate-type party in the Silver Lot after the race up until kickoff.

No real tailgate last year. The post race festivities are where most people gathered. We ran the race, went down to Monarch Grill for some beverages, then back to the game.
Dont forget the Priority 47th Annual Charity Bowl Celebrity Football Game before the spring game!! http://www.charitybowlfootballgame.com/
In previous years you could buy tickets for the bbq event, but I don't see anything about that for this year. Does anyone know if tickets are needed for the pre-game/post run event in the silver lot?
Big Blue BBQ is not a part of this years spring game activities. It will be held seperately at Harbor Park. Don't know date.
I ran the race last year, good times. I'm not a runner but it was fun to do about 3.5 miles through campus.

Love to hear where you heard that. I've been asking for two months and keep being told they were not sure what they were going to do about the Big Blue BBQ. I will be very disappointed to the point of angry if they don't have my favorite event that is strictly for the fans and BB team to interact and thank each other. This year of all years there needs to be something for this team that went beyond any of our expectations.

Old Dominion is correct. Big Blue BBQ will not be held at the same time as the spring game/5K
Call it a hunch, but with Boo Williams NIKE event this coming weekend in Hampton, and JJ and Co. chasing some big recruits, he may well have asked not to do it this weekend because he and staff need to be there.
Yes but EYBL conveniently is not conflicting with Saturday. At least for me. Big afternoon break, going to be a fun day.

I'm missing three of my kids soccer games and much of the Masters for EYBL and The Spring Game.
