Your post reminds me of an article run by the B'ham Post-Herald many years ago. Under a "photo shopped" picture of cars going in and out of a tunnel through Red Mountain with Vulcan at the top, it declared that the "New Red Mountain tunnel was finally open". The story was continued on page 2 and at the end was a tag line of "APRIL FOOL". It was reported that hundreds of people (who didn't read the whole article) drove all over the south side area looking for the tunnel during that day.

Several years ago 95.7 Jamz had a promotion where they supposedly were going to drop money from a helicopter on a field in Wildwood. There were quite a few people who fell for it. The Homewood PD was not happy.

Maybe we can organize a turkey drop instead.
