Have any of you looked at the profiles of the universities in the MVC. If you haven't take look.
Here we go again.

Nope I just asked the question. You don't have to respond.05-nono
Listened to an interview on Jox of Wichita bear writer. Obviously they were discussing Coach Marshall and Alabama. At end of interview the beat writer discussed UAB and MVC without being asked(duh). He offered that MVC should/will look at UAB and how the MVC was a good basketball conference.
I hate the idea that UAB could make a big run potentially as a member of CUSA next year. And then lose all of the money we earned from this year and next by being kicked to another conference.
Losing money is not relevent in their scheme. They want to destroy the opportunity for football to return once and for all.

Little do they realize that should they make this move, Watts certainly will not be able to live in public again.

Fixed that for you.

I believe Watts' plan is to get the basketball program built up with enough momentum that hopefully people will get over football.

Then he is delusional.
Watts wants to burn bridges so there is no way to cross back over them.

FIFY
Look I am fighting tooth and nail for football. That said if we do not win and are I the MVC or A-10, both are better basketball leagues any way you slice it. I will just miss trips back to my native lands in Texas and my future Florida home.

How about we win this thing and end up in the AAC?
What I was looking for was feedback on the profiles of the schools in that conference. I'm not questioning their strength in basketball. To me the majority of those institutions are not major universities in their respective states. Say what you will about CUSA but from its outset UAB was among its peers in status and stature.

Haha how dare you expect us to stay on topic!
I am not knowledgeable enough to argue the pluses and minuses of the various conferences, but I still believe (and have expressed every time realignment was discussed over the years) that as long as the present domination of the system BOT remains omnipotent, we will be hampered in seeking membership in ANY new conference. They may want UAB - the urban school - but they may be hesitant to get involved with a controlling BOT 60 miles from our campus that has a veto power over all important decisions.

"Home rule" seems to be as remote a concept to the BOT as it is for Alabama's municipalities and counties under the state legislature.

If you leave CUSA, you certainly could do worse than landing in the MVC. Some of those schools got serious game.
