The real Miami was a college when Florida belonged to Spain.

The real Miami are a Real People before they were decimated, forced from their land and had their name expropriated....
Hey, some teams are thrilled to play for the 69th best team in the Not Invited Tournament. Congrats to Stanford as well. We at least know it will be a P5 vs G5 match up that willthrill some people. They will some how use it to state this shows how the should be viewed a Power Conference "Cough AAC Cough" 03-wink

All cities and schools named Miami should be forced to change their name, in addition the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, etc.01-wingedeagle

Eh, more so the 48th best team as there are usually 20 conferences who wouldn't have representation in the NCAAT without an auto bid. Also, don't sleep on the experience the NIT gives some teams. I believe Wichita won in 2012 and then had a nice little stretch in 2013 in the NCAAT.

OH, IN, Il, KY, MI, etc. were all part of Virginia at one time. If hey all change their names back to UVA then UVA may be able to win a game and not have to change their name to the chokers.

Richmond was the first giant killer in the NCAA back in the 80's. I am a spider fan, but most of the graduates I know form there are jerks. I am glad the ACC team won. If it was VCU, W&M, ODU, or a non ACC team, I would think otherwise.

Dude, relax. During the Sendek and Lowe area of basketball, we would have been thrilled with an NIT invite. Even then, we still called it the Not Invited Tournament and playing to be the 65th best team. I actually think the NCAA taking it over has made it a much better tournament and reducing it to 32 was very wise. It is a good opportunity to learn but most coaches and schools, they rather be one and done in the NCAA than been known for the NIT. Sendek is the perfect example. Also, whole lot more money from 1 NCAA unit verse a NIT Championship.

Agreed what? About the names?

In the greater scheme of things there is a much bigger issue that needs addressing: The Return of Home Lands to the surviving Nations and their ability to become sovereign Nation-States.

This needs to be fast-tracked-- you would see nation states, of likely a modest size (except out west, as an ex.), but independent members of the UN (for instance) where they can pursue their own destiny amongst the family of international countries!
Is this yet another sign that the ACC and PAC were under-rated this year?
