Infuriating
"Vocal few" -- oh you mean all the no confidence votes?
I heard some of the trolls on al.com use the term "vocal few" throughout this whole debacle.
Quote:Ray Watts still has the support of University of Alabama Chancellor Robert Witt, who said Monday only a "vocal few" oppose Watts' leadership and UAB's governance.

Ignorance is bliss. He really said only a vocal few oppose Watts leadership. If this isn't pompous rhetoric than I don't know what is. There is absolutely no way UAB Athletics can survive in this kind of ruling environment from the BOT.
I got a kick out of this comment on Al.com.

Dr. Witt, is your first name Nit?

I hope the Kaleidoscope does a story and highlight that comment as the focal point. UAB students and supporters need to show Mr. Witt what a "vocal few" actually looks like.

Perhaps someone should email him a list of the municipalities that have passed supporting resolutions.
Well - let's add up the few - FreeUAB, UAB Faculty, UAB students, most Alumni - that's 4 people so definitely a few by their math skills. Alabama schooling at it's best, maybe if we didn't spend so much on UAT coaches & waterfalls, we could afford to educate our kids (in homage to BBF 03-lmfao)

I want to say I can't believe Witt had the audacity to say "vocal few". It's like he's spitting in UAB supporters and students face while saying "FU" at the same time.
Fire Nit Witt!

Yep!
Ok, now he's on the list...
If Ray Watts is removed, how can Witt not be removed as well? With each statement of support, it would seem that Witt is intertwining his fate with Watts.

What does it take to remove a chancellor? Witt was the UA president that largely ignored all the racial issues in Tuscaloosa, right?

Also, how is that not a huge conflict of interest anyway?

Seems like there's plenty of political ammo to build support from both campuses.
They have drawn the line in the sand. Witt and the BOT will not compromise. Fine, we will defeat them once and for all and they will lose all that they have feared.
What's really funny is that he can tout the record enrollment numbers at the same time saying only a few are on this side of the fight.

Maybe I was the only one to pay attention to this but Williams actually seem to give the BOT an out when he said they was also unaware of Watts pre-planning to eliminate football. I really do find that hard to believe and maybe that was a strategic move on Jack's part.

I saw it as exactly that. He's giving them a chance to fix this or hang themselves.

If they fire Watts, then it looks like Williams was right and they had no clue about how it all went down. However, if they do nothing, then it looks like either they did know, were actively a part of it or don't care anything about the turmoil at UAB...all three are losing propositions.

No you're not the only one. I made the same comment on twitter and some close to it replied back with a favorite. Oh he knows what he's doing and doing it well.
He's playing a good hand and only showing his cards one at a time. You can fix it or go down with him. He already has 41 cosigners on his bot reform bill. all he needs I think is 10 or 12 more. Don't think he can get it now, I think he has a strong chance to get it to committee.
