Final Score: MT Lady Raiders 70 & Arkie State 60! Even though Arkie State hit 5 threes in the Second Half! Hope you are right about MT getting to Host again. Womens' Basketball is still the best athletic Program that MT has to offer! If only the MBB and the F'Ball teams could do the same!

CRI said in post-game that Massaro told him it is "extremely likely" we will host again. I'm sure that means we will be hosting once we figure out who we are playing. If it's Ole Miss... that's a HUGE game, and a huge father-son rivalry -- should be a very large crowd!
Congrats, MTSU
Lady eagles were down by 12 with 3 left. Win in overtime over the conference jumper horny toads. 77. 73

Another OT win -- USM is a really tough basketball team !! Maybe a rematch in the final...??? Go CUSA!!
According to the official WNIT Bracket, we will host Eastern Michigan.
Congrats to both MT and USM fans!!!
This is going to be a damn entertaining women's league in the years to come. UTEP was missing 2 key players this year and will be back. FAU and UTSA are young and will be hard to handle. Tech will get back stronger. USM and Middle have good recruiting classes coming in and im sure western will stay strong.
It does remind me some of the good ole days of the metro. Memphis and louisville hated each other. If you were playing one in the conf tourney the other group would come in and cheer with you. Same thing happened last week in birmingham lol.

I don't remember which WBB game I was watching.. I think it was USM vs. UTEP.. and the broadcaster basically said... "Don't let USM be within 15 points with under 3 minutes to go... or they WILL come back."

The biggest question mark from all of that that I see is will Western be able to hold onto their coach. MCH has clearly put together an entertaining, quality squad in her three years in Bowling Green. Yet the fan support never materialized. There may never be a better time to jump to a richer program than now. Back-to-back NCAA appearances and she loses her two biggest stars (Gooch and Govan [though I think Noble is most important player on that squad]).

There is already one big time opening at Georgia. Kansas is open as well. I have to believe both ADs have probably already reached out to gauge the interest level from MCH.
Excellent point. As a WKU fan, regretfully,
I have to agree.

The bigger question might be how far can you stretch resources.
Womens Bball brings in little revenue and the national publicity is very marginal.
I dont think they have to worry this particular year. Kansas might show some interest, but she doenst have the pedigree to get the uga job yet. Their targets right now are her old boss at louisville and the hc at florida state.
The school that needs to worry about openings would be florida gulf coast.

UGA isn't really a better job than Louisville or FSU. I don't see Walz or Samrau leaving. But I think MCH's pedigree is EXACTLY what any program looking to make improvements is looking for. There really isn't a realistic mid-major coach with a better resume. And no P5 coach for whom the UGA would be an upgrade will be qualified.

It may not be a better job but it damn sure will pay big money. They will try to make a spash hire knowing Jr is in Ruston getting groomed to take over at Knoxville when he is ready.
For our game against Ole Miss, ticket sales have ALREADY (according to sources) tripled the entire pre-gameday sales from the first two games. Should be a large crowd.
It might have been said already and if so I missed it but after USM won at home Sunday vs TCU, USM was saying that hosting the 3rd round would depend on amount of presold tickets in next few hours after the game. The TCU game ended around 4:10 PM and around 8 PM or so that night it was annouced USM would be hosting Eastern Michigan. I'm not sure if it had more to do with Eastern Michigan (our 3rd round opponent) winning instead of Tulsa or if presold tickets were that good. For our 2nd round game vs TCU attendance was around 1700-1800 I believe. Hopefully with presold tickets immediately after the TCU game and walk ups tonight attendance will be close/over 2k. I've got 5 coming with me.

Hope you guys have a large crowd! The MT marketing staff is actually visibly marketing this game in some capacity in the Nashville metro (which we usually don't see much of) and the pre-gameday ticket sales seem to be quite high. I know USM probably might not be too excited to play MT again in the final but if both teams make it that far, I think that would be a tremendous matchup and a huge draw. Murphy Center would be sold out for sure.
