Before this game ends, I want to say a big hearty thanks to the Geargia State Panthers. You guys catch a lot of flack about your football program, but for the last two years, you guys have been the top of the heap in basketball. No matter how this game ends, you guys have represented yourself and the SBC with class, competitiveness and played like champions.

The games have been exciting and you have proven, at least for yourself, that you and the SBC are not as bad as advertised in basketball.

Good luck in the last 3 minutes, make it count.04-rock
Great Job in the tournament, great season, way to rep the SBC! 04-bow
Great job Georgia State that was a hell of a game you represented us very well
Thank you for the posts. This is a great time to be a Panther, and I've been impressed by the level of support for our team on this board.

I cant tell you how sorry I am for that. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone.

Just kidding. Thank you for the the kind words and rooting spirit.
We played our hearts out and I'm such a proud alum, it's ridiculous. God Bless the Hunter family as Ron Hunter is great man. He wears his emotions on his sleeve. I've enjoyed every minute of it.

That post game interview of him sums everything up.
Sure feels different than losing to Clemson last year. :)

Ugh, that sucked. There was no way we were winning that game two days after losing in overtime in that emotional SBC title game. What a difference indeed.
When Mark Bradley writes 3 teary eyed GSU articles in a week I know there has been a seismic shift in Atlanta sports.
The Hunters' and GA ST continued to get great pub today, halftime of the Duke Game, and ABC World News tonight both aired stories on 'em . . . . Very nice!

Haha! I was blown away by this too! It may have been that he just couldn't ignore it in the face of the national attention.
Hope GaSt is taking advantage of the new found attention and advertising football tickets in the ATL area. It's time to strike while the iron is hot.
The PAC needs to send out funding requests now
certainly never hurts to have the publicity that they received.....remember Kevin Ware from 2 years ago....glad to see him even walking.....but great job and hopefully this kind of press is the kind that would predominate for the SBC and then the perception of our league can only be enhanced.....thanks for the showing Panthers...the son and father looked like a reality show beginning for them....and yes they are funny too....would beat the crap out of that dysfunctional bunch of Kardashians.
I can see that reality show. Real Basketball Icons Atlanta.
I'm just glad Georgia State has something they actually accomplished to hang their hat on.

I think the patience of many of us had worn thin listening to the "we're relevant because of Atlanta" and similar talk. I think they've realized that true attention and relevance comes from what you accomplish, not to mention how good it feels when you actually achieve something that no one thinks is possible.

It's going to be interesting to see how they build off of this, and more notably, if they get better than they were these last 2 years. Unfortunately, with the way people are, there can't be any dropoff or your accomplishments will be disregarded in a short amount of time. By proxy, it should push the rest of us to improve to try and take a piece of what they have away from them. Many have commented on the additions of App State and Georgia Southern being a catalyst to force the conference to improve in football, maybe what Georgia State has done will push the conference to do the same in basketball.

I hope they have renderings of the basketball practice facility. I would be showing that recruits the next 3 weeks.

I would also shamelessly capitalize off that stool.

I think they could become a solid mid major basketball program. They should leave football to the team that has the championship formula that has worked for the last 30 years. 05-mafia
