Now that you mention that, is there any advantage for a BB only conference to have 12 or more members like there is for a FB conference (having a championship game)?
No advantage in going to 12.
10 allows a home and away schedule with all teams.

MVC seems to be sliding towards CUSA.

They moved from 11th last year to 10th this year on RPI. Doesn't seem like sliding.
11 th last year was a slide from prior years. Overall a slide has taken place. You can deny if you like. WSU and NI have had great seasons but the bottom of conference is very CUSA like.
I am for AAC as a non football paying member. It allows us to restore old rivalries and if we ever get football back, we have a place to play.

They lost ground after losing Creighton. Adding UAB would help them.
