I watched the NIT selection show last night, on ESPNU. As announced at the beginning of the show, ODU was seeded number one. I maybe saw about 10 seconds on ODU. While they announced the other teams, they interview about three of the coaches in the NIT, but not Jeff Jones. To make it even worst, ODU'S game on Wednesday is on ESPN3 where most of the other games are on the national ESPN networks. ODU will never get credit, until they break into the sweet sixteen or elite eight. I guess wins in OOC really doesn't mean that much, especially for ODU!
Look at it this way. ODU is a double digit favorite, espn wants to put on games that are more competitive. Not looking past anybody, but id rather have Charleston Southern that just about anyone else.
No complaint here.
Couldnt really find the right thread. Anyone cut out cable? Hows the viewing options for us? We were on ASN a lot or I think MASN.

I live in Norfolk and cut the chord in February. I got all of the games on ASN locally and added Sling TV with the sports tier (ESPN U, ESPN News, SEC Network, etc.), which will allow me to watch the NIT. I'm not sure what I'll do in football season for NFL games, but this has me pretty much covered for $70 a month ($25 for Sling and $45 for internet). Much better than my $125 cable bill.
Well, it certainly takes a die hard fan to complain about lack of NIT coverage.

You've sold me. I'm gonna cut the cord!
I remember just a couple days ago during some coverage of the conference tourneys. There was a display behind the host's desk that had all of the Division 1 conference logos. Of course the power/popular conferences were displayed clearly. But Conference-USA for example, was behind the hosts head so you could barely see the logo. Anyways, if Old Dominion takes care of business and wins, then they will be forced to give ODU more air time.
ESPN2 is airing UConn hosting Arizona St.

I'm as big of an ODU fan as the next guy, but ODU hosting Charleston Southern doesn't quite have the national pull that does.

It's not always a conspiracy.

I'm tempted to do this as well. I'm about to call Cox my bill just jumped from 45 to 60 for the preferred. Which is lame because I've been using Cox Cable Internet since 1997 as I was a beta tester for the "new cable internet" services. That on top of my DirecTV bill is getting absurd.

To be honest, you won't really be missing much other than the games on Fox Sports. And since we're never on there, it really wasn't a concern for me.

My favorite part is no contract. So, if I find myself not watching the sports tier, I can subtract that from my bill at any time without having to call someone. They are adding more and more each month too.
My only obstacle is the wife.
How about the fox sports app, do you have to have cable subscription?

My last hold out may be Nationals games. Anyone figure out how to get them? Blacked out on MLB
ugh, I keep checking all the different ESPN channels because it's "Tournament Bracket" or "Countdown to the Tourney with the Experts" and each one of them is talking about Kentucky and nothing else. I could cut the cord and not miss ESPN honestly.

I've never tried the former but for the latter can't you get MLB.tv?
They black out Nats/Orioles.

That sucks. I'm a Dodgers fan, so I was unaware that even happened.

Here is a workaround, at a cost:

The other thing I worry about is you only get Sling on 1 tv, right?

Yeah. But if the wife/kids are watching it one room, you can use your sling login to gain access to Watch ESPN. Plus, I assume anyone who does this will also use some combo of Netflix, Hulu, Prime etc. Honestly, I haven't had any issue with that. My wife and I usually watch together.
