I really like the way it works now that the NCAA has taken it over. Automatic bids to regular season champs who don't make the NCAA field, and automatic number one seeds in the NIT for the first four left out of the NCAAs.
Congratulations to Kerry's guys. I still think the regular season champion should be an automatic bid to the NCAA. Then, if you want to have a tournament for the rest of the teams to allow them to make a case for an at large bid then do it. Give the tournament winner an automatic spot in the NIT if they don't receive an at large bid to the NCAA. I would like the NCAA to rule that every regular season champion must be the automatic to the NCAA. Then figure out the rest.
On one bid league we should put the NIT bid up for the winner.
That's allright, but if the NCAA demanded that the regular season champ represented each conference, it would solve the problem. Then, each league could determine if it wanted to have a tournament just for the rest of the league. If it did, as you say, the winner would receive an automatic bid to the NIT if they didn't get an at large bid to the NCAA. We're pretty well on the same page here.
I was looking through the tech loses and every team but one is in the post season.

Uab and temple were in the last 4 out.

Nc st is a 8 seed. That game was there for the taking.

Losing at syracuse by 2 at the buzzer was a killer. Jim stayed home after the ncaa ruling. But they were a ncaa or nit team.

UAB won the CUSA tournament so it is in the NCAA tournament, not one of the first four out. The first four out were Temple, Colorado State, Richmond, and Old Dominion.
