Thought I'd start a thread on the MAC tournament opening round game vs. Miami since we are already done celebrating the dominant win over Toledo.

Does anyone want to throw out some predictions (preferably with some analysis) on the game.

I don't want to count any chickens before they hatch, but I think Miami is a good draw for EMU- especially at home.
I'd much rather see Miami than NIU, even though we swept the Huskies. Last time we played Miami at home, we had a sloppy game and still beat up on them. If we play with the defensive intensity we had yesterday, and we get solid games from Ward and Talley, we will be going to Cleveland.

Look for a bounce back game from Lee, who couldn't get his outside shot going last night. Hard to see him having two poor shooting games in a row.
I feel bad for Lee, he has played so well that just to have such a high bar set.
:-)

A guard goes 8-19 from the field with 17 points... True 1-7 shooting from the 3 was poor.
We should win by 10-15 points if we go by them match-up stats.

He set the bar pretty high for himself. It's quite a compliment when people consider 17 points to not be one of your best games. He's been much more efficient than 8-19 from the field and 1-7 from three. Miami isn't exactly a stifling defensive team...all signs point to a big game for Raven.
will be interesting to see what Miami's state of mind is on Monday after getting run off the court by a bad Ohio team on Friday and losing a chance to host the first round game. Will they be angry or deflated? Between last night's loss and the loss @EMU Miami went on a 5-1 run beating Ohio, BGSU, Kent State and Akron twice, their only loss in that stretch was by 5 to BG. Miami is dangerous but inconsistent, if I was a betting man I wouldn't put any money on this game, for sure. Good luck.

Glad to see Ohio had a nice chaser to a poor season, similar to EMU. Referring to the blowout wins last game of the season, of course.

NIU went on a run after losing to EMU just as Miami had done. A little odd, but it has been a strange season in so many ways.

Hoping Miami is deflated rather than the alternative. Somehow I am confident, I feel EMU is the better team. Perhaps just my bias.

Thanks for checking in. Good luck against Western.
The first of the odds forMonday's game we are only 7.5 point favorite.
i didn't think there was a chance in hell of us getting a home game. this is great. i tried to buy the courtside seats but they're all sold out.

Sorry you missed out, but nonetheless that is a good sign for turnout.

And yes, the eligibility for home court was a surprise to most of us. Glad for it

Sad for me but I head home today. If I thought there was a chance of a home game I could have stayed over one more day.

Who knew????

We 'drew an inside straight' as they say.

Hope we have nice turnouts for both games tonight.

Go Green....

Ken sings the praises of the MAC.

As I have been saying all season: we're good but the MAC is very good.

This team could have gone 12 - 6 against the MAC a few years ago. Not so this year...
In our last meeting, we were able to utilize the small lineup (with Naz at 5) and forced 24 turnovers. It probably would've been bigger than 14 point win if we didn't turn it over 22 times ourselves. Ward and Talley both had big games...hoping for a repeat of that. We did a very good job taking care of the ball against Toledo (only 8 TOs), so that needs to carry over. Miami is a scrappy bunch. I hope the thought of that blown 25 point lead is still fresh in our minds.

From the site i use we were ranked 179 this year they have us ranked 259 using the raw ranking system meaning all games played. And have the Mac conference ranked 13th.

Totally worthless. NO one believes those data.

We are a 125 - 140 type team.

If you only use d1 teams we are ranked 179, raw includes the non d1 teams. Again this site uses a lot of different data to come to an over all conclusion. You may not like it but if you truely like to include real data to get a clear and honest picture this site is very good. They use it to set the odds on winning bets, real money, mulla, whapon, cash.07-coffee3
Can't get to ypsi tonight. Does anyone see any streaming available. I heard the tournament would be on ESPN3 and MAC digital network but I don't see our game listed on either.
I don't believe any of the first round games are on ESPN3. We have to wait until Cleveland for ESPN coverage.
