It's hilarious that Tiger fans thought this team would be competitive this year. All you had to do was actually watch the CBU exhibition game to know what type of team and season we would have.

When your guards look slow, can't shoot, and can't shake D-2 guards, the handwriting is on the wall. The CBU juggernaut is middle of the pack in their conference and has been swept by Union University and West Alabama.

The only thing keeping the season from being a complete debacle is the fact that the top teams are either gone (U of L) or down ( Cincy, Uconn) while the crappiest teams (Houston, USF, and UCF) are still around.
We are upset because we are bad and haven't been to a S16 in my 6 year old son's lifetime, Not because we are surprised to be bad.
Ok, What's the point of this thread? As in why now? No one said that this was a great year for tiger basketball. I'm just glad that we beat probably our main rival in the conference up or down. What gives?
Jeez, I think everyone has beaten this horse to death. Our guards are not as good as previous years most will agree they are either young, or not is shape. The year is coming to an end let's enjoy what is left of it, support the kids and come up with new stuff to talk about after the season.

I disagree with the claim "we are bad". We are not a "bad" team, we are just not as good as I think we should be and can be. And the lack of year over year improvement doesn't offer much hope for the future with this coaching staff.
Coach Pastner is a bad coach wash, rinse, repeat, we are not miserable, we are realists, wash, rinse, repeat, we are not haters, wash, rinse, repeat, this team is bad, wash, rinse, repeat, fire Coach Paster, wash, rinse, repeat, we are beating bad teams, wash, rinse, repeat, conference teams are bad, wash, rinse, repeat, wash, rinse, repeat, wash, rinse, repeat

I'm trying not to

that means we've had 11 "good years" in the 90-something year athletic history of UofM hoops....

I still consider making the NCAA tourney, and winning a game (advancing) to be a solid season. (see 2013 and 2014)
Different style, same bait.

Sorry skeezix, team is down for Memphis overall, but is hardly bad.

Now, turn this gentle post into look Mimi thinks Pastner is Coach K or the rest.
A program that has played for twice -not won- a national championship in a hundred years.

I have no wishes one way or the other about Pastner -I'll support whoever is there, as always. But, one thing would be a lot of fun; at the end of this year Pastner gets an extension and a raise.

It's not about this year

Correct.

It's about the years 2006-2009.

It's about how Pastner miserably failed to mirror Calipari's fabulous four year run (while politely ignoring the vacated season, the escape to UK to avoid the NCAA posse, and how he scampered out of here shortly after the Missouri Sweet 16 "upset").

You mean you didn't need another thread referencing a loss 4 months ago (after we picked up a good win on the road)?

Pretty much. This board, which I used to read daily and comment on relevant topics, has gotten into a rut. Threads on firing the coach, or if the thread is not about coaching firing it soon turns into it.
Wow. Just think if we hadn't just beaten the national champs on their home floor.

Okay. We just had a sweet road W over the defending National champs. It was senior night and our best player is injured. All of us would agree that CONN does not have the prowess of their great 2014 team. But, But Boatwright and Hamlin are no joke.

And, so now you post this crap. You cant be a fan who celebrates this recent W during a season which has had multiple UGLY AND PAINFUL Ls.?
This is a Miserable post. Those of you who think the term 'miserable' is unfair, what else would you call it?
Geez.
