FIrst half action with UT taking an early lead before stringing together too many turnovers (9) with half or so traveling calls. NIU has taken away the inside post game and had a 10-0 run in what was a one-game game for several possession. With 7:34 in the first half, Huskies up 24-15
With 5:42 left in the first half, Toledo is in the bonus. One bright spot. Rockets make three of four free throws. NIU up 28-20
Teams trade empty possessions. Media timeout. Rockets ball down eight following TO.
Sophie gets a lay in. Rockets get a stop. Ana gets an acrobatic lay in. Rockets down 28-24 with 2:18.
Teams trade baskets. Shooting foul called on Rockets. NIU to the foul line with 1:31 left. Misses, Rockets ball down 30-26. Another errant pass into the post picked off by Huskies.
Ana hits a over the shoulder falling down hook shot of sorts closing the scoring in the first half. NIU 30 - UT 28.
Rockets closed the first half getting shots and points in the paint. Three point looks were hard for UT to come by; don't recall a three pointer in the first half. The Rocket defense picked up in the later of the half outscoring NIU 8 to 2 in the last 5:42.

Thanks for the update. When they committed their 10th turnover in about 12 minutes of play, at that point they had 12 shot attempts and 10 TO and I felt I couldn't take much more so I just I turned off the radio for the rest of the half. Figured it would be halftime before Coach Cullop could get that problem squared away, but she must have gotten her message across quicker that I thought she could.

This is a game that they should be winning (and I suspect that they probably will after some of the usual come back drama).
Rickets 0 for 2 from three point land. A dozen turnovers for UT to six NIU. Rebounding edge to UT. Rockets to inbound the ball to begin the second half.
Rockets hit two baskets with Huskies hitting a deep two pointer. Rockets up 33-32.
NIU makes two free throws on Rockets second foul of the half. Huskies up 34-33 with 16:40 in the half
Teams trade scoreless possessions. NIU picks up its second team foul. Harris scores on nice in-bouds play lay in. NIU scores on a layup and a blocking foul called on Ana inside the baseline arc.
Huskies up 36-35 and shooting one when play resumes.
Foul shot good for NIU. Rockets throwing the all around on offense with a three point attempt missing everything. Rockets maintain possession but during possession(s) draw two Huskies fouls. Two free throws by Rass ties the game at 37. NIU scores and then gets a breakaway lay in on another missed Rocket three point miss. Huskies push lead to 41-37.
Janice gets a lay in but NIU hits a three pointer; 44-39
Sophie rebounds her own miss and scores on the put back. NIU counters with a long two pointer. Rocket offensive foul. Sophie hits the floor following a collision with a Huskies on a long rebound. Time out called. Husky player heads to the bench. Have to check on Sophie when play resumes. NIU up 46-41.
NIU inbounds with Sophie on the bench.
Harris scores on a lay in - tough shot. Rockets hold but turn the ball over….again. NIU hits a short jumper. 48-43.
Janice surrounded by three Huskies takes a wild shot and fouls on the rebound. NIU gets another quick bucket. 50 - 43. Time out Toledo.
Rockets offense has been out of sorts for the last four minutes. Meanwhile NIU is working for the quick shot beating the defense for good looks.
Bravo-Harriott hits a semi-fast break lay in. NIU counters with another quick shot. 52-45 with 8:37 following an errant pass by UT
