Full Version: I still can't figure out the Stetson deal.

I'm not talking about sitting out this year, but his supposedly lack of scoring ability. The young man averaged over 30 points a game in high school, had one game over 50 points, and in that game made several three point shots. I know he played a small school, but that kind of scoring should indicate some kind of ability to shoot the ball. Just doesn't make a lot of sense. I would think after two seasons playing D1 ball, he would be able to contribute scoring, as well as defensively. Very strange.04-cheers
Because the staff get you here and try to turn you into something else instead of what got you here.
Do you think that's what happened with Stetson?
Any staff at this level has to use the shotgun approach at recruiting.

So, they honestly dont know what they have until they get to campus.

From there they have to change the system to fit the players.

Steve has changed some over the years but i am not so sure he didnt have more success when he played outright grinderball.

Playing in Class A, or whatever Strong HS plays in, Stetson was probably the biggest and, by far the most talented guy on the court, in 90% of his games. A little different at the DI level.
You still have to be able to put the ball in the basket to score 50 points. And even if he was guarded by someone smaller, when he shoots the three ball, he still has to make it, even if he's wide open. I wish I could see video of that 50 point game to see what he was doing.
