Play ball

WG says it was cold, but same for the Trees.

Brakeman throws harder than Quantrill, but not as much command.
Leadoff single for Stanford.
Stanford already with a run on a passed ball (or wild pitch)

Grrrr. Unearned runs R us.

Leadoff single, 1-out single, passed ball ... runner to 2nd.
"The lights are not on at Reckling Park." :-)
Two flyouts to Warren end the threat. Last one sounded like it was close to dropping in for a hit. Whew!!

1-0, Standord, heading to B1.
4-up, 3-down for Owls in scoreless B1. Stainback smacked a comebacker infield single off he pitcher's glove, and Byrd nearly broke into a home run trot -- and had JP on the edge of his home run call -- but the wind pushed it foul for the second out. Reeves Ks to end the inning.
More bumbling.

E5 allows leadoff batter to reach.
First tree of 2nd on by E5

Fox makes a play to 2nd and gets the runner -- 1 down
But he's out on the too-hard bunt, 1-4.
Gray's "two bouncer" throw to first allows Cardinal runner to get on. E5.
Bunt to Fox ... Force at 2nd (1-6). Yay!
Clown show goes on. Not recorded as an error, but steal due to slow reflexes and bad throw.
Are we pressing too hard?
HBP, then first pitch single scores run.

Then a HBP to the 9-hole hitter and sharp RBI single through the middle. Grrr.

2-0, Stanford.
Wow, just can't believe what I'm hearing (and its not just JP)...
This is Bad News Bears bad defense, on top of Fox's pitch count now in the 40s.
Looking awful again
Little league fielding.
Owls building up strong surplus of charity. Are they deductible?
