Quote: Police dash cam video released as a result of a lawsuit claiming excessive force appears to show St. Louis police officers allegedly beating up a driver before one of the cops tells another officer to "hold up" so they can turn the video off.

The incident happened in April 2014, when Cortez Bufford was pulled over, accused of speeding and making an illegal U-turn, Bufford's attorney Joel Schwartz told ABC News.

The officer "pulls Cortez to the side," Schwartz said. "He pulls over, the officer tells him to get out. You can hear him refusing, asking the officer what he did. The officer ... gets angry, at some point he says he smells marijuana, and drags [Cortez] out of the vehicle ... the officer took him to the ground."

St. Louis Police Officer Turns Off Dash Cam

Anybody notice anything............peculiar about this incident?
I watched the video, but don't see the peculiar part. Turning the camera off was incredibly dumb. That move alone will probably cause the city to lose the lawsuit.
The dash cam was obviously NOT turned off.
I watched it on youtube, camera was on.
I didn't see anything resembling excessive force. The so called kicking was barely making contact. I've seen 8 year olds roughing each other up a lot worse on the playground. I call B.S. on the lawsuit.

It was turned off for 2 minutes. Found this in another story on the incident.

Quote:In footage being used as evidence in an excessive force lawsuit against the St. Louis Police Department, an officer can be seen warning a group of at least seven cops arresting a suspect that a car's dashcam was on and recording them before the footage cuts out for more than two minutes.

The two minutes that it was turned off must have been when the guy rushed the cops. 03-lmfao

The cop kicking the black guy was a black cop... That's why our national racebaturs aren't out in full force, frowning upon this incident.
That'll let you know how much they REALLY care about their people.

It was turned off for a short period, as ERC says and it IMO, should not have been, as a lot could have happened in those two minutes.
They shouldn't be able to turn them off.

Yes. And all videos should be submitted to evidence for ANY violation, even jaywalking. I have dashcams on both my vehicles; set me back $300 but totally worth it.

This. And the cop that purposely turned it off should, IMO, be suspended without pay for a lengthy period of time.

Why don't you just mount your cell on the dashboard. That's what I did. Works perfectly.
