It depends on how you call the "boss" out! Sometimes it's done through legal action....This happens to be a kid whose rights are not recognized as an employee (as of right at this moment) as there is supposedly zero "compensation" or "benefits"...coaches are overthrown by the players in professional leagues frequently... This youngster probably felt that he had been pushed into a corner and needed to voice his opinion.....It wasn't the most intelligent choice.....But there needs to be more attention to the "scapegoating" and "ostracizing" by Josh Pastner....there is obviously some inherit issues that he has been allowed to get away with this and it stinks....wreaks of a person that doesn't embody proper leadership skills to captain the magnitude of a program such as Memphis...... Fire this imposter and let the new leader decide if he wants to reinstate IVO!!

Josh is our Past..... IVO should be in our future!!!

-Josh has been awarded multiple cusa coach of the year awards.

The above statements are FACTS. They represent the bottom line. Josh deserves some criticism. But, his being fired does not make much sense.

I also have found this season to be a long season. I also have not enjoyed the multiple blow out Ls to quality opponents.
But, I still support the team (and coach). It is not productive or rationale to continue to bash the coach.

Part of the reason we are in this pickle is that, a couple of years ago after we went 31-5 and actually won an NCAA tournament game, lots of fans were all over the AD saying he had to make sure we kept Josh. So, in a way, we are getting exactly what some of us asked for.

I'll say he took a job in one of the most basketball crazed cities in the world.

He has plenty of excuses that are valid. He has plenty of what everyone refers to as "scapegoats".
I would love to see Greg Marshall in the chair next year. I wouldn't love to see Anthony Grant there or Bruce Pearl. So to fire Josh for the sake of firing him.... Admin will never do that (this year).

It always amazes me when people like this don't realize how others perceive them. You would think that if they did, they would go out of their way to not make a spectacle of themselves.

Expectations now are no longer on par with Conference USA! Agree/Disagree?

In Conference USA, Memphis was clearly a dominant team.....our level of talent was leaps and bounds above ANY other team....That talent (top 5 recruiting classes) allowed Josh to acclimate < ^ above aforementioned achievements.....

Now, with a tougher conference....player/assistant defections.....commitments of lesser talent....influx of juco talent.....transfers to fill voids in subpar recruiting.....We are seeing the true abilities of our leader....In all honesty, we have seen this in other years when matched against higher RPI teams and College playoff format where performance left a lot to be desired
