Why not combine the SBC and Conference USA into one giant league.
You could switch some teams around to make it work geographically. I haven't looked to see how many teams there would be, but you could have, say, four divisions, with the winners of each division playing a two game playoff to determine the NCAA representative. Winners of the divisions would be seeded with #1 playing #4 and #2 playing #3. That way you give four teams who won their division a chance to play for the NCAA spot. I think that could be fun.

The leagues should sit down and divide the teams along geographic lines. Call one the Sun Belt the other ConUSA. Not much difference in the 2 leagues at this point.
It won't happen because teams have this idea of who they want to be associated with. For instance, there are a few schools in the SBC, that no CUSA team wants to be considered associated with...so you'll never see a reorganization along geographic lines unless people get desparate.

It would work great except for La.Tech wants nothing to do with ULM, UTSA and UNT are unlikely to want TXST, Charlotte would oppose App, USM would probably oppose Troy and USA.
