Quote:Pat, I sent this email to Sports Illustrated and Coaching Search in response to their recruiting articles on ole Row the boat. If you think it's good enough to put on the board. go ahead. I don't know how to do it.

Sirs,

We (& I), fans of The University Of Toledo, read your articles about P.J. Fleck and Western Michigan football recruiting. In your articles, Fleck makes a statement that was either not checked fact checked by your sources or was highlighted by mistake. He stated that his class was the highest rated recruited football class in MAC conference history at #71 or #74. However, Gary Pinkel had a recruiting class rated in the 40's or 50's while at Toledo. It made news because it was rated higher than half the BIG 10 conferences class at the time. The players from that recruiting class later convincingly defeated Joe Paterno and Penn State at Happy Valley, 24-7.

We think P.J.'s antics are embarrassing to WMU and we opening make fun of him. So give us a call when Fleck finally beats Toledo. He's 0 fer!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you

TB
He probably should've proof-read it first, but no matter. They'll ignore it anyway. I was given a gift subscription to SI back in the day. I thought it had great pictures and the stories were pretty good, although statistics and such were sorely lacking. When Bohl fired Simerell they wrote a story about how it was the darkest day in collegiate football when such a hero loses his job. It basically chastised Toledo for thinking it should strive to win more than 5 games per year. I wrote a letter to to editor. Then a follow-up. I got no response. I then cancelled the subscription along with any respect I had for that publication.
Fleck is sure full of himself. Probably carries a mirror around in his pocket.

Somehow I have receiving SI magazine for the last couple months. The magazine is a slim shell of the SI I grew up with. No way I would ever pay for a subscription now, particularly after reading these posts.
Nothing wrong with the swimsuit edition. ;•)[/u]
