First game I've left early in 6 years

Hard to watch your favorite team when they aren't even competitive. There's always next year. Oh wait, I sound like a Cubs fan :)

Yes no matter the outcome, this game wasn't competitive.

The Bucs are great at two things this year, two sides of the same coin: turning blow out wins into buzzer second shots for the other team, and turning blow out losses into what seem like fairly close losses. We can't take Wofford away, or at home, and I don't know that we'll even get a chance on the neutral court. NCCU was a nice distraction, but it fell between losses to the best and the worst of the SoCon. Got to stop losing conference games.

6-6 in conf play is ...

Unacceptable.

Now hanging on to 4th place simply in virtue of the tiebreaker over 6-6 Western Carolina.

This was probably the most upset I have been at an ETSU since the game Belmont hit so many 3's in the first half against us years ago.

Bottom line is that we do not have a Division 1 caliber inside man on the active roster. Everyone at the game complains that we can't rebound. Of course we can't rebound! Everyone complains about missing layups- our inside players cant hit a layup 50% of the time, we just have to realize that. The coaches on the other team are not dumb, and it is not tough to stop a guy (Rembert) who is good only at spot-up shots and an out of control Riley.

Add to that an inferior coach with no offensive game plan and we simply don't have a chance. We are 11-9 against Division 1 competition, and we have seemingly lost all confidence. I could see us being below .500 by the end of the year.

The only positive from this game was Bradford. He should start next game, and he might end up as a senior to be better than anyone else on the team right now. Bradford, A.J. and Lester (when he was in the game) were the only 3 that put forth a lot of effort tonight.

Wofford is right in the 45-50 RPI range (no excuse to be embarrassed at home). Can anyone tell me the last time Bartow coached a season finish top 50 team?

More of the same. As long as the same is the status quo, that's what it'll be.
I guess it's better to tip toe around his mediocrity because he's got a couple of 60 year old groupies rather than to go out and have some forethought and take chances.
Nothing changes until somebody grows a pair, buys a whole bunch of cheap gold watches and starts sending folks out for free tennis lessons.

And you know at this point Bartow is taking notes everywhere he can to support the notion that "this is a tough league" of all but one team ranked in essentially the bottom half of DI basketball....

Bartow's first year was a great success, and I believe we started his 2nd year as a preseason number 26 or so in the national polls. And we finished 10-19.

RPI is as useful as a bucket of warm spit. ETSU has the second best RPI in the conference. Did we just watch the 2 best teams in the conference?

Wofford is also ranked #8 in the midmajor top 25. ETSU is ranked 4th, by a hair, in the SoCon. Is that better for you?
