Never played a Div III team. ODU, also, does not play Div II teams in basketball, in Men's or Women's, except in exhibition.

Are you really going to brag about beating a non-scholly Jacksonville team. If so, I will brag about us beating Campbell twice as well. Cal Poly beat you in year 2, right? So, you only played 1 ranked FCS team in 2 years? Charlotte played 4 top 25 FCS teams in our first season alone (Winning over #23 Gardner Webb) and a couple more last year. We've played ranked Coastal Carolina teams twice, JMU twice (once ranked), Citadel on the road and Chas. Southern twice (ranked once) among others. ALso, Charlotte doesn't play regular season games in ANY Sport against non-D1 teams either. However, the first 2 seasons of football was an understandable exception (just as ODU did).

Get over yourself.

What are you trying to say? At no point in your development have you been as good as ODU at the same point in our development.
If I remember correctly (a couple pages back) you visited our page, not the other way around. I can just imagine the San Antonio Spurs going - well, I know we lost to UTSA's intramural basketball team, but hey, the won the Intramural National Championship and is really good. Get the heck out of here.

I don't feed the trolls. Does Charlotte not have a board?
horrible thing to say but, Charlotte is sounding a lot like JMU. Gonna be a sweet season..........

Right.....because better record in years 1,and 2,against a much weaker schedule proves that? Haha. .....ooh y'all beat Jackson ville.03-lmfao

Nope. But 2 playoff appearances, a 2-0 record vs JMU (vs 0-2, like y'all), a Walter Payton award winning QB, and a top 5 ranking prove it.

And which of those things occurred in your first 2 years?

You played a Division 2 team in your second year. ODU didn't. You played a Division 3 team. ODU didn't (and spare me the BUT THEY'D BEAT GOOD FCS TEAMS argument; there's a wide gap between non-scholarship and scholarship, whch is why Pioneer teams never do anything with scollie FCS teams). You lost to Elon last season, which was awful. Your big win against Gardner-Webb in the first season oses its luster when they proceeded to lose four of their next five and got hammered by a pool VMI team.

Again, nobody's saying you could have done much with the schedule. But acting like you were playing a significantly better schedule is unquantifiable and largely pointless when you lose those games, and in some cases by wide margins. And it definitely doesn't take away from the point you were trying to handwave earlier, that you're going to have a hell of a time getting up to speed in FBS in your first few years. You'll be thankful to beat Georgia State and somehow steal one against a CUSA team. That's not an insult; if ODU was going into next season in your situation, I'd call for the same thing. It is what it is.

(02-26-2015 01:12 PM)919R Wrote: [ -> ]Not sure what your point is here. Again, your record looked better but the overall SOS your first 2 years was weaker than ours. Were any of your FCS opponents those 2 years ranked nationally.

W&M was #12 in the nation when we played them. I believe Cal-Poly was ranked #16 as well.

And it's really hard to do a SOS when teams are playing D2 or, in some cases D3 teams. If you have those SOS, could you post them?
SOS means nothing when you are losing to UNC Pembroke and NC Central.

I hope your team is as cocky as you ODU guys.

Nothing wrong with being cocky; however, it is kinda funny to read that coming from a fan of a team that got mercy ruled in Chapel Hill last season. Having said that, I expect ODU to beat us pretty handedly.

Not to mention D-3, Wesley College.
Pounding charlotte into oblivion next season is going to be VERY enjoyable.

Just a shame they pussied out this past season.

The freight train is coming ladies.

Point being, y'all are not (and were not) world beaters either. That "flashy" record doesn't mean squat considering you played almost no one of note (ie; so you played 2 ranked FCS teams in your first 2 years compared to our 6.....sure, that makes no difference in the records) . Also, you can talk as much crap as you want about us losing a close game to Wesley in year 1 because it shows you are clueless outside of your own little bubble. I promise you that Wesley team would have beaten atleast half of the teams on your year 1 and 2 schedules.

If....if....if. Like the old adage says if a bullfrog had wings. BFD. You guys lost to a D3 team and all you are doing is making excuses. Look at your first opponent this year. They too lost to a D3 team their first and claimed it was because that D3 team was a powerhouse. That it didn't matter. Yet what have they done since? Nothing. Hell they have yet to beat a true FBS team ever. The team they beat last year was in its first year transition to FBS. They have yet to win a Slum Belt game in two seasons. So just keep talking. You are as clueless as all those ga state twerps.
Fellas, let this one go. He is going to be so shocked when UNCC gets hammered by 30 game after game after game.....
Imagine if after year two instead of joining the CAA we were joining C*USA..... @$$ Whipping!
Next year, as his 2nd string QB is carted off the field, he will wistfully think of bygone years when they played close games to UNC Pembroke.
This kind of reminds me of that Ga State guy saying that ODU "has no idea what is coming."

Or the JMU, and the entire CAA.............
Personally, I hope Charlotte develops into a very good FB program....that loses to us every year. Another strong program is good for the conference and good for establishing rivalries. How can you have a rival that, like JMU, never beats you?
