Here's how the AAC looks approx halfway thru this conf season:

Conf Game Attendance Averages: (Numbers below are reported announced attendance numbers)

1) Memphis: 13,921 (5 conf games)
2) UCONN: 13,316 (4) Includes 3 conf games played at XL Center in Hartford
3) Cinci: 9,854 (4)
4) SMU: 6,882 (4)
5) Temple: 5,767 (4)
6) Tulsa: 5,189 (3)
7) ECU: 4,565 (3)
8) UCF: 4,064 (5)
9) USF: 4,016 (4)
10) Tulane: 2,688 (5) Includes one conf game at downtown NBA Arena vs UM
11) Houston: 2,416 (3)
Memphis' numbers (down 2 - 3 thousand) reflect the dissatisfaction right now. A win at #3 Gonzaga this weekend, a long shot for sure, could return some positive energy.
As awful as ECU has been that's not too horrific a number. It will probably even go up with our biggest home games of the season remaining.
Memphis' numbers are terrible...

Wow, I didn't realize our numbers were that bad. Thanks, things really are in emergency mode.

Its no coincidence that the top six are also the only ones at a shot in the tourney...these are the 6 teams I think will be in NCAA, NIT tourney...most likely 3 in each...unless UCONN can win the conference tourney at home..

bottom line: winning breeds results and butts in seats
UCF needs a fresh start. we have the facilities....... we just lack the personnel.

If you win, they will come

Facilities help...but players still want to play in front of large home crowds.

Also, at least for UCF, the personnel is "increasing".

Example: UCF will have 7 players on their roster that will not be playing vs SMU this weekend:

BJ Taylor (still out with a concussion)
Guard Matt Williams (out for the entire year due to ACL injury)
Forward AJ Davis (redshirting season, transfer from Univ of Tenn)
Center Tacko Fall (incoming HS player)
Point Guard Chance McSpadden (incoming HS player)
Forward/Wing Chad Brown (incoming HS player)
Forward Tanksley Efianayi (incoming JUCO player)
Should see Tulsa's numbers climb this week. Lots of great promotion across alumni chapters and here in town for the USF game tomorrow. I'm thrilled that I've rounded up most of my tailgate crew and their families for this one.

And then next Saturday. SMU and our only evening weekend home conference game all season. I'll be furious if we don't come close to a sellout (8300). I'll start my full court press on friends as soon as the USF game concludes.

That's exactly was I was thinking! After playing certain in-state ACC programs tough on ESPN the last couple years I saw real enthusiasm for ECU basketball for the first time in many years. (For me, ever) imagine if we started winning?? ECU would be dangerous!!
Those Memphis numbers are getting critical.

Id love to have y'alls problem

We are getting excited about being close to 6000 again.

The MSC quietly sits there awaiting a grand reopening, but we are still a couple of thousand away from being able to fit in there. All humor aside, wouldn't just one more important Tiger game in the round house be fun?

Memphis is dependent on basketball money for it's other sports right now. Folks pay a lot of money for good seats (a substantial 'donation' in addition to the ticket price is required). Also booster money, I'm sure, has a connection with happy basketball supporters. It's a concern.

Probably but does it meet ADA requirements?

It's always wait until next year with DJ. He needs to be fired. Over the losing.

I don't know if it even keeps rain and birds out. :)
