ACC changes stance: games vs. #BYU will count toward Power 5 non-league requirement, sources told @ESPN
Good move.
I'll be curious if they start taking specific G5 programs as well. Specifically, Boise State, Cincinnati, UConn, and USF.

Boise St = sure
Cincinnati = maybe
UConn & USF? = fuggetaboutit
The whole point of the requirement was so weak teams in the conference would hurt the conference's better teams' SOS with the selection committee. This accomplishes that goal, and so would the better teams from the AAC and MWC. I expect no league is going to fuss too much if one of their middle of the pack teams plays Boise State or Central Florida instead of Kansas.
Good, it makes it much easier for ACC teams to schedule appropriately.

I doubt it.

BYU is a special case as an independent. If you elevate one MWC/AAC team then you elevate them all.

So, what about Army?

I would imagine Army (and UMass FWIW) wouldn't count as P5 either.

Mmm, no.

How many national titles those teams got?

Navy and Air Force are G5 so I doubt they would count Army as a P5 requirement

I'm with that school of thought. Last year when this issue was decided in the other direction, BYU was the only school targeted.

How many national titles those teams got?

A: one less than BYU.

Mmm, no.

How many national titles those teams got?

A: one less than BYU.

And as many as most P5 schools.

Do you see why BYU gets some leeway and the others you listed do not?
Didn't GT and a few other ACC schools drop BYU from future schedules last year when it was announced that BYU would not count at a P5 school for OOC scheduling?

Probably. The ACC likes to make decisions that alter school's future schedules and then go back on those decisions shortly thereafter.

Good for BYU. I'm not a fan of the school but they do have a National Championship. I just wish they could get into a P5 conference.
After reading the reactions on some of the other boards I kinda hope that it leaks out we made this decision just to troll the AAC.
BYU belongs in the Big 12 or Pac, not the AAC.
