If I remember right a lot of colleges thought Bruce was going to place basketball.

I would not be upset if was gave a scholarship to this young man.

Bruce almost got overlooked by us. Pinkel's staff had left and taken recruiting tapes with them. Someone with our new coaching staff happened to find Bruce's tape in a desk drawer and decided to take a look at it.

NewMex, any buzz on this guy since he's in your backyard?

I heard that Pinkel passed on Big Ben because he didnt fit his qb philosophy. He was looking for qbs that were more mobile. Not sure how factual this is - just what I heard at the time.

I would give this kid from NM a scholarship. I think this kid will play with extra motivation and is a winner.

I dont understand how teams like New Mexico, New Mexico State, or UTEP havent offered him. It is a three star recruit, with no competition to get him. Why wouldnt teams that have sucked like them offer him?

The article said either UNM or MN State wasn't interested because they took 6 QB's in last year's class........

If I was him, I would never consider a school that signed 6 QB's in one recruiting cycle. Maybe 1 was a kicker, another was a punter, another was an "athlete", etc. That is insane.
