I suppose you could call this a trap game. Southern Miss comes in at 0-4 and I'm sure they'll be hungry to get their first win. We must pound them early and often in the paint. Our bench scored 34 points last game. Southern Miss's bench is one of their biggest weaknesses. I'm hoping for another strong FG% outing and some fun plays to keep these young guys positive going in to the gauntlet of the next month.

All those turnovers aside, the guys showed up well at LA Tech. What I'm looking for in this game is how they rebound after a tough loss. Earlier in the season, they lost their confidence and were just going through the motions. Right now, the defense intensity is at a high and the shot selection is a lot better. They maintain that much and they should be good to go.
Southern Miss played its best conference game on Thursday, losing to MTSU by one point. One of the starting guards was dismissed, but is now back with the team. I don't know if he'll play tonight or not. I hope we don't take them lightly, 4-1 in conference would be huge.

We won't be pressed any where close to what La Tech does today. We match up well against this team. They lack in size and consistent 3 point shooters.
Watching La Tech a couple times year I've noticed you really have to play a near perfect game to beat them. They are going to hit 5+ 3's guaranteed. They are going to turn you over more than 10+ times guaranteed. We almost played the perfect game to beat them. A couple more trips to the free throw line would have done it. I can't wait to get them in Bartow. This team is going to want that one BAD!
