UC's Jeff Luc headed to Senior Bowl

University of Cincinnati middle linebacker Jeff Luc has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, in Mobile, Alabama.
Luc from Port St. Lucie, Florida, led the 9-4 Bearcats with 134 tackles this season and was named first team All-American Athletic Conference. Luc tied for the NCAA lead in forced fumbles (six) and ranked tied for second nationally in recoveries (four), with seven double-digit tackling games and 6.5 sacks.
Luc had a career high 19 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks against Miami (Ohio) in a 31-24 victory Sept. 20.
Luc began his college career at Florida State before transferring to UC in summer 2012. He sat out the 2012 season as a transfer, then played for UC in 2013 and 2014.
As a high school player, Rivals had Luc as nation's top-rated middle linebacker and No. 42 overall nationally. Luc was given a five-star mark from Scout and was the No. 1 middle linebacker prospect nationally. Luc was ESPN's No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 11 prospect overall.
