University of Cincinnati middle linebacker Jeff Luc has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, in Mobile, Alabama.

Luc from Port St. Lucie, Florida, led the 9-4 Bearcats with 134 tackles this season and was named first team All-American Athletic Conference. Luc tied for the NCAA lead in forced fumbles (six) and ranked tied for second nationally in recoveries (four), with seven double-digit tackling games and 6.5 sacks.

Luc had a career high 19 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks against Miami (Ohio) in a 31-24 victory Sept. 20.

Luc began his college career at Florida State before transferring to UC in summer 2012. He sat out the 2012 season as a transfer, then played for UC in 2013 and 2014.

As a high school player, Rivals had Luc as nation's top-rated middle linebacker and No. 42 overall nationally. Luc was given a five-star mark from Scout and was the No. 1 middle linebacker prospect nationally. Luc was ESPN's No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 11 prospect overall.

Now here is some good news.

Glad for him. Hope he makes the most of it and catches some eyes. Was a great representative in his time here
The NFL draft gurus have been salivating over Luc the past couple days. Yesterday a couple of them were commenting on his physique and today this was tweeted:

Luc almost looks a cartoon character, central casting for MLB

I don't think he could pull off the skinny white boy look of me. Just sayin'...

Would love to see him in a buccaneers uniform. They're probably losing Mason foster to free agency. Luc should be available in the later rounds.

He seemed like he was the glue that held together the UC defense this year.

Is there any draft buzz on what round he is projected at?

That's what I'm thinking too...they like the oversized run-stuffing mikes

Among other standout performers in Mobile this week, Cincinnati Bearcats linebacker Jeff Luc created high expectations during weigh-ins before later going out on the field in pads and looking every bit as good. Luc's explosiveness and speed in 11-on-11 team sessions drew high praise, including his ability to finish plays.
On Wednesday, Luc showed no doubt why he led the Bearcats with 134 tackles in 2014, stopping Nebraska running back Ameer Abudllah right in his tracks, allowing no chance for a broken tackle by the elusive Husker star.

As both North and South teams approach Thursday's final full practice of the week, look for both Luc and Walford to finish in strong fashion. It won't be a surprise if their week culminates with a solid showing in Saturday's Senior Bowl, further strengthening their cases as very worthy NFL draft picks.

No idea where he drafted or by who, but he will move up on boards via Senior Bowl prep. I will LOL if Andy Reid gets him.
