They didn't really show it today like they had been, but we struggle to close out shooters on our zone.

I agree with you and in my opinion, I think Coach Keatts probably saw how much Hofstra was struggling to find the net on their 3s and so went to the zone late in both halves.

Great win by the players. Great win by the coaches.
Keatts Post-Game Press Conference

I really, really, like him. His demeanor in post-game press conferences is outstanding.

I wish you could attend one of his practices. He makes it fun, and the guys really enjoy the practices. Also, if you screw up, he points and sends you off the court. Then, you get to run suicides on the sideline until you go back in. There is not back talk, or complaining. You can tell the guys respect him tremendously and respond to him without question. He doesn't go into long, drawn out explanations. Usually a quick correction, and they're back at it.

Plus, most of his practice involves team competition. 3 on 3, 2 on 2, 5-on 5. He let's them play, and teaches during breaks. Practices are as impressive as what we are starting to see on the court.

I only hope he doesn't succeed too quickly. I'd like to see him stick around awhile!

He stated during the Wilmington Business expo, or whatever it's called, that if people in this town get behind the program, it won't matter who the coach is.

Worrying about him having so much success that he leaves is a good problem to have. All the positive things that are happening will lead to him starting a successful coaching tree and keeping us as a very attractive destination.
If his way is successful, and I have no reason to feel it won't be, we can only hope he leaves us with a clone to continue a successful program.
I would have to believe that if somehow we win the league or the tournament this year we're already going to be looking at the very real possibility of that happening. When the day comes, I hope it goes better this time around for us.

That being said, that's the last thing on my mind in terms of UNCW basketball these days. Glad to be back to our winning ways consistently.
