Quote:I’m obviously disappointed, but what this vote means to me is that I have more work to do to find common ground so we can move forward, and I am up to this challenge. I truly want to thank our students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters who have made their voices heard in a constructive way.

We have a great university. We have thousands of talented people who are making world-changing breakthroughs right here in Birmingham at UAB.

My focus moving forward is to work with our community to carry out our mission. As President I am totally committed to the future of UAB and the many great things we are doing here.”
Porky Pig is living in Dream World
The BOT will make the decision for Watts & they will pay him quite a fee for him to abide by their decision.
constituents = peasants

Has he ever dressed the part as a UAB president?

The BOT may wish for him to shut up now.
This was a prepared statement ahead of time just change I'm disappointed to encouraged and the statement takes a whole new meaning. The whole meaning of the statement pivots on the one word disappointed.
He should have listened to people before he made this horrific decision. Just like he should have consulted people before he pulled what he did with the Honors Program. Just like he should have consulted people before he did what he did with the Clean Air Act. He simply has no idea how to listen to people.
We are about to receive a practical demonstration of Political Science when ethically right collides with power related right. My bet is on the power side.
He must think that every time he says "move forward" an angel gets his wings.

Or a devil gets its pitchfork?
Supposedly Witt and BoT released statements supporting Watts. If true, so it begins... May be the beginning of the end for UAB existence in UA system.
It reads I don't care
I swear, if I hear the word "constituents" one more time...

UA Chancellor Robert Witt"I look forward to working with him (Watts) as he continues to chart UAB's future course."

I'm not surprised. Witt and PBJ don't care about UAB. They are telling #FreeUAB to FO.

He consulted before he took the job with the only people he gives a **** about. That's why he did what he did.
Watts, Witt, and the UA dominated BOT are all in this together. There is no doubt about it.

You can tell that he rehearsed that statement much better than he rehearsed the press conference where he disbanded football, rifle and bowling.
