Government documents say the FBI first noticed Cornell after he voiced support for violent “jihad” on a Twitter account.
Further investigation revealed his intent to attack the U.S. Capitol, and he planned to detonate pipe bombs there and open fire on any employees and officials after the bombs went off, according to government documents.

And we’ve talked about with ISIL, part of our strategy to counter this extremism is to have other moderate Muslim voices stand up and say they don’t represent our religion. They speak for their religion more than we do certainly and we need those voices to stand up. In addition to all the other efforts we’re undertaking.

I've said it before, I truly wonder if these leftists were to be captured by ISIS and while they were having their head sawn off, if they would STILL be cuddling up to Islam. I think the ones that have been executed by ISIS rolled over pretty quickly and converted to Islam, so the answer is yes, they would. Then they'd have their heads removed from their bodies.

The dad may be a nutter, but he's probably right that without the FBI, this guy would've just been an angry young man (I think dad had no clue in that regard). But, the kid would've always been ready and willing to do something if he came across the wrong person, and I think the dad also fails to appreciate that.
