I didn't know the depth of the thing with the honors program until after the athletic teams were cut, but all reports mirror each other in that Dr. Watts was intentionally dismantling it just to satisfy his own ego and further his agenda. Anyone that support Dr. Watts and stands with him is actively poisoning UAB. I'm going to try one more rounds of emails now to hopefully reach anyone sitting on the fence.

I'm hitting one more round tonight and just including this letter and the article about the clean air program. Between the two there's not much left to say

Tremendous statement. I just don't know how ANYONE, in good conscience, could/would support Ray Watts in light of this (and all combined) evidence.

Like I said in other threads, I wrote my final "Support of No Confidence" email to the faculty senators last night. I have heard back from several thanking me for my time, dedication, and attention. I guess we will see how it all pans out tomorrow.

I just sent the link to this article to the Faculty Senators.

I think if we send them any more emails, they need to be short and sweet if we want to get our point across to them. Remember their emails in boxes are probably over flowing.

I will make another go at them tonight. This needs to happen not just to help convince Watts to retire; it needs to be a strong reminder to the next president that: WE ARE FAMILY!

Watts forgot that some time ago, so now, he needs to go. The next president needs to remember those 3 simple words, or ignore this advice at his or her own peril.

What a great letter!! Wow. Speechless after reading that. I think it accurately & concisely conveys the views of 95% or greater of UAB affiliated people, but with much more flowery and impressive language.

I just thought of an egregious occurrence that took place in early 1992 that would qualify, I am hoping like hell that the UAB Faculty Senate doesn't fall into comparison after tomorrow.

Watts is a medical doctor to the core. As the son of a doctor, I know first hand...Most MD's do not like to be second guessed. This is why you see how he acts in public. For others to second guess his actions is unthinkable in his mind...How dare they question me!

It's like he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, but he fails to realize he's surrounded by a roomful of smart guys (& gals)...

But of course, Watts submitted the same research paper twice and thought he could get away with it. The guy obviously can't handle getting his way.

Is there a recording of Watts calling students "elitists?"
