Damn, that's good.

I hope it's in Sunday's print edition as well.
Brilliant!

All that needs to be known about the motives of the leadership at UAB is the elimination of the VPSA position.

That would seem reasonable. I hope so. Well written, and the closing couple of paragraphs should carry a lot of weight around UAB.
I'm so glad I was a student under her
I agree that this is a well-timed missile; Dr Gauld is highly regarded. Bonus points for using the word foment...the Bammers will stop reading right there.

Her opinion piece is further evidence of the view that Dr Watts and his masters (BOT) see no reason to consult with any "peasants", or their advocates, when making their decisions on their version of Mt Olympus. They simply toss out their "thunderbolts" and don't feel required to yell "FORE" or "DUCK" or any other warning for those directly affected by their actions -- they are just "collateral damage".

It is just another example of those in power in our state feeling they have absolute power over their particular fiefdom and its inhabitants. As has been said before -- "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".

Foment: "When I send my wife down to the bait store, I tell her to look foment Skoal. She better not buy that wintergreen crap."

It is.
Creoleman has found the article. He is about as anti-UAB as they come.
Who is this Creoleman? I'd like to throat punch him.
Throat punch him? After his comments about Dr. Gauld on Al.com, I'd like to kill him.
