Fresno State won in same conference. And Wyoming. New Mexico leading by 3 with :o2 left in first half. San Jose State and UNLV ready to tip off in about 14 minutes. Meanwhile ...

Awful quiet on our private board. hmmm. We won. Depression setting in?
No. I think the shock of winning has caused some post traumatic shock for a little while. Some are probably still out eating dinner, and will post a little later.
No, we just don't care much, because this team is still terrible and it means nothing.

No, probably still gloating over our 4 straight conference losses.

ASU lost by 27 tonight to UTA. That suggests they may be terrible. We have lost 1 conference game in OT, one in double OT, and one by 3 points. Those scores may suggest bad luck, lack of a clutch player, or maybe even poor coaching at the end of games. Doesn't indicate we are "terrible", unless you are saying the entire Belt is terrible. We'll probably be in every conference game we play- Can we start winning the close games? Hell, if I know, but hopefully we can.
I hope so too, but nothing I've seen before indicates that we will.
This is not a terrible team. Not when the right combination is playing together. If Steve learned anything last night, then the disciplinary sit down of J.T was the best thing that could happen. Devonte is the far superior point guard. He is quicker faster and has that burst of energy you need to energize the team. Ben is solid, but for a two guard, who is supposed to be one of your best scorers, doesn't score much. Mariek, Roger and James W. give you a good solid front line. James R. does many good things, even when he's not shooting the ball well. And Gus last night looked like we thought he'd look after his Freshman season. Only way this team won't have a halfway decent year is for the coach to screw it up. The talent is there. We're not a ULL or Ga State, but we're better than our record indicates.

The whole conference is awful.

In the time i have been following ualr the sbc has moved from top 3rd rpi to bottom 3rd.

Think about how good the bb in this conference was 10 years ago.

No game day thread for app st.

That is depressing that none of us started one to talk about the game.

In the past there would always be a few people on here during home or away games.

Some care more when we lose. Much less depression.

Sorry. I just thought from previous posts that you were so impressed that he was starting for a team that beat Air Force.

See what I've been saying. You don't have to make this **** up. Any criticism of Shields or the program brings out this venom. I like Mickey, but I guess he just can't help it. Must still be shellshocked over that hog call.
Jim that kid is a major part of a winner. he is better than either of the pg's we brought in. Bothhim and higgins should be starting and just killing people in the sbc. This is a guards league. You just need a few big guys that can rebound and set a pick.

throw in the white kid that can shoot and you got something.

What we got is a guy that has never b een able to get kids to run a play to produce something and the issue of no defense over the last 4 or so years.

Man, he has blown up. Get someone else in there.

Better than Devonte? You gotta be kidding. And John must have known it or he wouldn't have tucked tail.
He's not better than Gillon, IMO because Gillon was just as quick and was a shooter. I love Devonte, but I don't believe Gillon left because of the competition. And I don't believe he would have been upset if we had brought in a Freshman point guard. He probably figured a juco wouldn't be brought in unless he was going to cut into his and Josh's minutes.
It's like we got Dobbins who had originally committed to New Orleans when the told him they weren't going to recruit anyone else at his position, and then did, and it made him mad and he switched over to us, which was very good for us. Who knows what we told Gillon. Remember. This is the program that took away Stetson's scholarship. Did we also take away Gus's? I can't recall. Sure. It was for Roger Woods, but is that a way to build trust with high school coaches and players. And we wonder why we can't sign good local players. They see and hear these things. Oh yes. We also pulled Appleby's scholarship and he became Freshman of the Year at La Tech. Just not smart moves. And going back to Matt Mouzy, giving what should have been his scholarship his Sophomore year to either Curtis Jackson or Nick Cicic and you know what they contributed to the program. And Brady tried to get Matt to transfer to ASU, but he was already too committed to UALR and his family paid his way for not one, but two seasons. And those are just situations we know about. And yet there are those who are too blind to see, or won't accept what they see. I love all you guys, but we just agree to disagree sometimes. But I appreciate your loyalty to the program. Can't question that.

Agreeing to disagree is fine with me. I don't see you as a smart-***. JW did't wimp out when they brought in Brown and Washington because he knew he was better than them and they wouldn't eat into his playing time. Neither did Mo. That's the difference between them and John. Josh didn't wimp out either. I'm very pleased that Muntrelle wimped out. I infer that you are saying he did so for the same reason. Not worried about Stetson. He will be back if he's good enough. His high school coach will understand if he's not. I don't want Arkansas coaches and kids believing that we are a last resort program that will keep players that don't measure up. We don't know why we pulled Appleby's offer. And can we ever just agree that Mouzy was a good little mid-major player who didn't warrant a scholarship until his junior year, regardless of who else we brought in? So so tired of hearing of Matt. I don't mind talking with those who are too blind to see. I appreciate your loyalty to the program, as well, and respect your complaints, because you actually show up at the games.

Only our fans (or maybe just some folks on this board) root for and worship a kid who bailed on their program. Whether he was afraid of the competition or thought he was too good for us (like Brandon Reed)
doesn't matter to me. He bailed so **** him. I also thought we were done with the Matt Mouzy garbage, which appears to clearly have been the onset of the get rid of Steve movement.
