From Indy star regarding IU's loss to Purdue back in 92'

"Leary said the flight home resembled a game of chuck-and-duck as Knight emptied a container of soft drinks, fruits and cookies.
"Coach Knight was as mad as I've ever seen him," said Leary, a junior guard on that team. "All of a sudden he started whipping full cans of Coke and Sprite at us. Then came bananas, and cookies and cakes and all kinds of stuff. We were all ducked down in our seats because no one wanted to get hit by one of those cans."

Who cares? He won 3 championships.. did he not? and its not like he was the only school in the whole world that would have accepted them.. they chose to go play for him, and you talk to 100% of his players that werent cry babies, and they will not only defend him til the death, but they will also tell you he is the most caring, and influential figure they ever knew.. The world isnt fair, and in all honesty these kids got it better than 98% of us.. just for having met the great man known as Bob Knight.. By the way.. I spilled hot coffee on myself.. want to feel bad for me and call Mcdonalds a douche bag? I had the same choice not to go there, but because of what I got out of the whole visit the small spilled coffee was worth it, and I probably deserved it since I did tell the Drivethrough lady she sounded like she was speaking ebonics.. see same scenario.. built into our lives.. but only a cry baby looking for an excuse would make a spilled coffee into something big, and sue Mcdonalds or something.. They all know when they go to play for that great coach, that if they mess up he WILL get angry with them..

Mr Happy

Ouch, I just got a paper cut. I blame the paper company.
He may be an ass, but he's one of my favorite coaches.

No one should behave in that manner, period. He has done it with players and the people with whom he has worked.

One reason I had such respect for our previous coach is that although he shared many of Knight's positive traits, he never crossed the line like Knight has done time after time. Huggs gets results without having to get physical. That is the difference between a real man and a bully.

Why would you wonder that.
What happened to coaches telling kids it's only a game?

So winning 3 championships give you free reigns to act like a *******? So Coach K would have free reigns to do this? What a stupid excuse you just gave.

That went out the window when it quit being "only a game". Now it is life and death, hired or fired, big ego or ego crusher.

NO my excuse for him doing this is that it's not like they didnt accept that before they went there.. I was saying he has three championships.. soo he does know what he is talking about..
They would have had to duck quickly on that 100 mile 'flight" home!!!
I'm still amazed someone would pull out a quote from 14 years ago and use that to judge a man today.

I don't want to think about some of the stuff I may have said or done 14 years ago.
well Mr. Knights team just knocked off a very good Texas A&M team on the road at the buzzer for his 885th win. im pretty sure thats more than anyone else has ever had.

It is what newspaper reporters do regarding long time rivals. We just had the Enquirer do a 100 best HS bball players from Cincy? All kinds of quotes from way back. I liked it. I never knew who Robin Freeman (spell check) was. I do not think that the Indy Star is judging Knight. All know the man is a bully.
As I watched part of that game last night, I was just thinking how fun it will be to see the other Bobby that we are familiar with whipping up on Knights teams over the next few years.

I'll admit it, I can't wait to watch K-State in the tourney and I will watch them as if I were watching UC.

Looks like Ole Miss will get in also. UC will be back and I'll root for them in the tourney to, but for now this seems reasonable.
